CPKC aims to raise $600,000 to help homeless veterans

CPKC is teaming up with Homes For Heroes and Veterans Community Project to raise funds and awareness for veterans experiencing homelessness in Canada and the U.S.

Through CPKC’s annual Spin for a Veteran event on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, teams of cyclists will pedal for 12 continuous hours to raise over $600,000 for veterans in both countries.

“Through this important initiative, we have an opportunity to help address the challenges many veterans face after military service,” said Peter Boyle, CPKC Manager of Heritage Services and Operations Canada. “Every contribution provides critical resources that support veterans in need. Together, we can continue CPKC’s proud tradition of helping those who have dedicated themselves to serving others.”

Donate now to double your impact. CPKC will match all donations made before Oct. 3. The funds raised will directly support Homes For Heroes and Veterans Community Project, which provide veterans with housing and resources as they adjust to civilian life after t military service.

Home For Heroes estimates that up to 10,000 Canadian veterans are experiencing homelessness. Veteran Community Project estimates that more than 30,000 U.S. veterans are living on the streets.
