2026 NFL Mexico City Pregame Entertainment Announced

The National Football League today announced that acclaimed Música Mexicana artist Majo Aguilar and Oakland-born Blaxicana singer-songwriter MXKA will perform the national anthems of Mexico and the United States prior to the 2026 NFL Mexico City Game between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 7:20 p.m. CT (8:20 p.m. ET) at Estadio Banorte.

Majo Aguilar will perform the Mexican National Anthem and MXKA will perform the U.S. National Anthem.

One of the leading contemporary voices in Música Mexicana, Majo Aguilar blends mariachi with a modern artistic vision. A three-time Latin GRAMMY® nominee for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album and a two-time consecutive Premio Lo Nuestro winner for Mexican Music – Female Artist of the Year, she has become a leading figure in the genre’s new generation. Her acclaimed Mariachi Mío project helped redefine mariachi through contemporary influences, while performances at Mexico City’s Zócalo, Teatro Metropólitan and Canelo Álvarez’s boxing match in Riyadh have further elevated her profile. With more than 533 million global streams, Aguilar continues to celebrate Mexican culture and bring the richness of música Mexicana to audiences worldwide.

MXKA (“MOH-kah”) is an Oakland-born Blaxicana singer-songwriter whose music blends the storytelling and instrumentation of Música Mexicana with the melodic intimacy of contemporary R&B, a sound she calls R&B Tumbados. Born to a mother from Mexico City and a father from Louisiana, she creates bilingual music that reflects her Black, Mexican and American identities. Her breakout single “La Vuelta” marked a major step in her growing career, with her work also earning recognition from Spotify, Billboard, KQED and Remezcla. She has also performed the national anthem as part of Telemundo’s official FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage and continues to expand the boundaries of contemporary Latin music through her unique cross-cultural perspective.

“Getting to sing the U.S. National Anthem in Mexico City, with the 49ers on the field, is a moment that connects so many parts of my story,” said MXKA. “I was born in Oakland, my mom is from CDMX, and as a Blaxicana artist, I’m proud to carry both my Black and Mexican roots onto a stage this big. I’m deeply grateful to the NFL for trusting me with this moment, and I can’t wait to share it with fans from Mexico, the Bay and everywhere in between.”

On Aug. 31, it was announced that The Warning will headline the halftime show of the 2026 NFL Mexico City Game. The Mexico City performance is one of a record seven halftime shows presented by American Express staged across the 2026 International Games, a lineup of musical performances spanning seven countries and four continents, as the league plays its most international games ever in a single season.

“We are excited to showcase two artists in Majo Aguilar and MXKA pregame in Mexico City, each who have rich and significant connections to the country,” said Tim Tubito, NFL senior director, event and game presentation. “Their powerful renditions of the Mexican National Anthem and the U.S. National Anthem under the lights at Estadio Banorte will set the stage for the NFL’s return to Mexico City.”

Both the Mexico and U.S. anthems, along with the full halftime show, will be broadcast live in Mexico on TelevisaUnivision’s Channel 5 and on ESPN.
