Dual Venom PKOs Announced at Americas Cardroom With $6.5M GTD

Americas Cardroom has announced the October return of its Dual Venom PKOs, pairing a $5 million guaranteed No-Limit Hold’em event with a $1.5 million guaranteed Pot-Limit Omaha event. Both tournaments begin October 4 with a $2,650 direct buy-in, bringing $6.5 million in combined guarantees to the schedule.

For the October events, the starting-flight dates are October 4, 8, 11, 15 and 18. Each begins at 1:05 p.m. ET. Day 2 of both tournaments follows on Monday, October 19, also at 1:05 p.m. ET. The PLO tournament ties the brand’s largest PLO PKO guarantee ever.

Players looking for a qualifying route can use Venom Fever, which runs September 29 through October 18. It offers hundreds of seats through Direct Satellites, Mega Satellites and Survivor Flips Step Satellites. The Survivor Flips Steps begin at 80 cents, while some Mega Satellites offer paths starting at $0.

The bounty structure remains central to both tournaments. Every elimination sends half of the eliminated player’s bounty to the player who scores the knockout. The other half moves onto the knockout winner’s own bounty, increasing the amount attached to that player as the event progresses.

That progression can make an individual elimination worth tens of thousands of dollars. Players therefore compete for bounty payments during the tournament as well as for their eventual regular prize payouts.

Last year’s Dual Venom PKOs generated $7,847,500 in combined prize pools. NLH winner Rigapols81 earned $378,372 in regular prize money and nearly $297,000 in bounties, taking home more than $675,000 overall. The tournament attracted 2,498 entries and built a $6,245,000 prize pool.

The PLO competition drew 641 entries, producing a $1,602,500 prize pool. PohPohPohPAAAA finished first and collected $252,888 overall, comprising $135,789 in regular prize money and $117,099 in bounties.
