BBR$999 Claims $241,630 in Back-to-Back Second Mortgage Week Victories at Americas Cardroom
The same player captures both opening titles as the high-stakes schedule moves toward a $25,500 event.
Second Mortgage Week began with a sweep on Monday when Americas Cardroom player BBR$999 won consecutive Nosebleed Stakes tournaments worth $241,630 combined.
The run started in the $10,300 NLH 8-Max. BBR$999 outlasted 55 entries and won $154,000 from the $550,000 prize pool. Americas Cardroom CEO Phil Nagy, known at the tables as Justsomefish72, collected $110,000 for second place, while LeijkieHond earned $88,000 for third.
Americas Cardroom Pros Chris Moneymaker and Alex Foxen were among the other players in the opener. Moneymaker competed under his own name and Foxen played as OutFoxenYou, though neither reached the paid places.
BBR$999 also won the $5,200 NLH 8-Max for $87,630 after the event drew 69 entries and generated a $345,000 prize pool. Halongbeee finished second for $65,550, followed by Chamois999 in third for $51,750.
In one night, BBR$999 secured more than a quarter of the $895,000 awarded across the two events.
The action continues this Wednesday with a format change: $10,300 and $5,200 Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments. Two No-Limit Hold’em events follow on Thursday.
Sunday, September 27, provides the schedule’s peak buy-in with a $25,500 NLH 8-Max, accompanied by a $5,200 NLH event. The final two tournaments on Monday, September 28, carry $15,400 and $5,200 buy-ins.
Second Mortgage Week is part of the $50 Million GTD OSS XL. This Sunday, Day 1B runs for the $2.5 million guaranteed $2,650 OSS XL Main Event and the $2 million guaranteed $1,050 Main Event. The $500,000 guaranteed $66 Main Event reaches Day 2, and OSS XL concludes September 29.
