Intertek approved as HPD preparer by the Health Product Declaration Collaborative

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has been approved to serve as a Health Product Declaration (HPD) preparer by the Health Product Declaration Collaborative (HPDC).

The HPDC Approved Preparer Program recognizes organizations that have demonstrated the knowledge and experience necessary to assist manufacturers with preparing accurate and complete HPDs according to the HPD Open Standard, the industry’s leading specification for accurate and consistent reporting of building product content and associated health information. The HPD Open Standard is recognized by leading green building programs such as LEED, WELL, and Living Building Challenge.

• Coordinating supplier outreach and ingredient data collection
• Maintaining HPDs through annual reviews and updates
• Supporting transparency initiatives for green building and sustainability programs

Intertek provides end-to-end support for HPD creation and documentation, working directly with manufacturers to collect data and produce compliant HPDs using the HPD Builder. The company also handles ongoing maintenance to keep HPDs current with changing certification and project needs.

Additionally, Intertek supports architects, designers, contractors, and building owners in acquiring and reviewing HPDs for material selection and sustainability credits. Finalized HPDs are published in both the Intertek Sustainability Directory and the HPD Public Repository.
