Sky releases trailer for Crystal Lake, an A24 produced prequel series to “Friday the 13th”, coming this October

Sky today unveils the official trailer for Crystal Lake, the highly anticipated new series from A24 and creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice, Warrior).

Expanding the iconic Friday the 13th universe, the eight-part series stars Emmy-winner Linda Cardellini (DTF St. Louis, Dead To Me) and will be available exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and Ireland from this October.

A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, Crystal Lake follows single mother Pam Voorhees (Linda Cardellini) who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?

Also starring William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Crystal Lake expands the mythology of one of horror’s most enduring franchises, blending psychological suspense, mystery and emotional storytelling with the legacy that has captivated audiences for generations.

The series’ creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer is Brad Caleb Kane who joins A24 and original Friday the 13th writer Victor Miller and Horror, Inc. in bringing the Jason Universe story to the screen. Executive producers include Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox and Roy Lee. Produced by A24.
