Ruby Enters Finland with First Hotel Project in Helsinki

Ruby Group continues its European expansion with a new project in Helsinki, uniting contemporary Lean Luxury philosophy with the character and charm of a heritage property. The listed building at Lapinlahdenkatu 3 was constructed in the 19th century and served as an office building for many years. Now, it will be thoughtfully converted to accommodate 84 rooms and inviting public areas on the first floor, while preserving essential historic features. All guests will have access to a 24-hour bar and café in the public area. The property is multi-tenant, with the ground floor shared by established long-term operators including a pub and restaurant, adding to the authentic community feel.

Situated in the heart of Kamppi, Helsinki’s cultural and music centre, the property offers excellent connectivity. The Kamppi metro station is just steps away, and the central station can be reached on foot. The city center, with attractions such as the famous Helsinki Art Museum, is also just a few minutes’ walk away. Helsinki Airport (HEL) is reachable by car in 30 minutes. Despite its central location, the hotel enjoys a quiet position opposite a small park and within walking distance of several waterfronts - an urban retreat offering both energy and calm.

Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ fast-growing premium collection, the new Ruby hotel in Helsinki will become IHG’s fourth property in Finland and add to its growing presence in key Northern European cities. The Ruby Hotel in Helsinki is set to open in Q1 2028.
