Turin – WEBWIRE
  • On stage in Turin: Opel to showcase all-electric rally car from September 11 to 13
  • Electric rally power: The Opel Mokka GSE Rally delivers up to 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Nm of torque
  • Motorsport technology: First vehicle developed according to the FIA eRally5 regulations, with Rally4-level performance
  • International stage: Seven rounds in six countries for the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup 2026, including the Sanremo Rally

Opel will participate in the Turin Auto Show 2026, scheduled from September 11 to 13. The third edition will transform the city centre into a large stage dedicated to the automobile, with 47 manufacturers, new products, previews, exhibitions and test drives – all available free of charge. Opel will display one of the most radical expressions of its GSE strategy: the Opel Mokka GSE Rally, an all-electric rally car that transfers performance, innovation and character to motorsport.

Developed as the new generation of Opel’s electric rally cars, the Mokka GSE Rally achieves a peak output of 207 kW (281 hp) and a maximum torque of 345 Nm. The technical package includes a multi-plate limited-slip differential, a racing transmission, reinforced drive shafts and hubs, a lightweight chassis and Bilstein rally suspension, for performance comparable to that of a Rally4 car. Strong, fast and uncompromising, it interprets the meaning of GSE – Grand Sport Electric – with an immediately recognisable visual presence. The car was created to combine sporting excitement, safety and sustainability and is the first vehicle developed according to the new FIA eRally5 regulations.

“The Turin Auto Show is a great opportunity for Opel to meet the public and show how electrification can express performance, character and emotion. With the Opel Mokka GSE Rally, we are bringing the concrete result of our motorsport know-how to the heart of the city: a car capable of anticipating the future of racing and interpreting the Grand Sport Electric philosophy in the most authentic way,” said Giorgio Vinciguerra, Managing Director Opel Italy.

ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup 2026: Electric motorsport gets even more exciting

In 2026, the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup entered its sixth season with a new name and with the Opel Mokka GSE Rally instead of the Corsa Rally Electric. The world’s first all-electric one-make rally series offers seven races in six European countries, offering teams and young talents a competitive, accessible and sport-oriented platform.

The season kicked off with the ELE Rally in the Eindhoven area of the Netherlands, and continued in France, Austria and Germany; among the most anticipated events is the Sanremo Rally in Italy, before the finale at the Rallye Spa in Belgium. The international calendar enhances different types of routes and highlights the versatility of the new electric rally car.

The 2026 edition of the electric cup also introduces a new mobile and self-sufficient charging infrastructure, capable of operating even between the special stages. The stations have 160 kWh of storage and a power of up to 250 kW, which can be divided into two 125 kW connections; logistics also use battery-powered articulated trucks, for locally emissions-free operations. This solution makes it possible to increase the number of race kilometres and makes the championship a concrete laboratory for the future of electric rallying.

Alongside the sporting challenge, the championship represents an important pillar in the promotion of young talents; the best young drivers can stake their claim to a place in the ADAC Opel Rally Junior Team, with the prospect of competing in the FIA Junior European Rally Championship.

Rally vibes in Turin: Electric performance close to the public

The exhibition area of this year’s Turin Auto Show stretches from Piazza Castello to the Royal Gardens, integrating the cars into an urban setting and offering the public a direct experience with the brands and the latest innovations. The presence of the Opel Mokka GSE Rally will allow visitors to see Opel’s motorsport know-how and the evolution of high-performance electric mobility with the Blitz emblem up close.

With the Opel Mokka GSE Rally, the Rüsselsheim-based manufacturer is demonstrating how electrification can generate authentic emotions even in the most demanding conditions. The Turin Auto Show 2026 thus becomes an ideal showcase for a project that combines accessibility, technical innovation and sporting passion, bringing the world of electric rallying to the heart of the city.
