Wrong Venom, Right Knockout: Americas Cardroom Player Hits $250,000 PLO Bounty

A misclick put Americas Cardroom player “R88P” in the wrong $2,650 Venom, but the mistake ultimately led to the $250,000 top Mystery Bounty in the $3 Million GTD Pot-Limit Omaha event.

R88P had intended to enter the separate $12 Million GTD No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty Venom. Instead, the player confirmed a registration for PLO. With the entry unable to be canceled, R88P played on and made it through to Day 2 last Monday.

That was when the tournament changed. Mystery Bounties became active on Day 2, with every remaining player already in the money. Each knockout transferred the eliminated player’s hidden bounty to the winner, and the amount was revealed only after the elimination.

For R88P, one knockout delivered the PLO event’s largest possible reveal: $250,000, the tournament’s top Mystery Bounty. R88P later explained that the PLO entry had been a misclick and that the No-Limit Hold’em tournament was the event originally intended.

“Best part is I didn’t mean to register plo, misclicked only meant to play the no limit 😂” R88P said.

The two Venoms were separate multi-day events with the same $2,650 buy-in. The No-Limit Hold’em tournament featured a $500,000 top Mystery Bounty and a $12 Million guarantee. The Pot-Limit Omaha tournament carried a $3 Million guarantee and a $250,000 top bounty.

R88P did more than land the headline bounty. The player finished 13th for $10,840 in prize money and accumulated $265,000 in total bounties. The PLO event’s final prize pool reached $3,095,000, clearing the guarantee.

The accidental-entry story was later shared on X, where the unlikely path into the PLO tournament became the centerpiece of a quarter-million-dollar poker result. Following the win, R88P requested an increase to cryptocurrency withdrawal limits. The request was handled immediately so the substantial withdrawal could be processed faster and more smoothly.

What started as an unwanted registration ultimately became the biggest possible bounty reveal in the PLO event and a 13th-place finish for R88P.
