Harald Gloy to become CEO of Lufthansa Technik AG

Harald Gloy will become the new CEO of Lufthansa Technik AG. He will succeed Soeren Stark, who is retiring, effective February 1, 2027. The company’s Supervisory Board today appointed the 54-year-old graduate engineer to lead the global market leader in aircraft maintenance services for a five-year term. He has been a member of the company’s Executive Board since 2022, serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

After completing his studies in Berlin and the United States, Harald Gloy (54) began his career at Lufthansa Technik more than 25 years ago as a graduate engineer. Through numerous leadership roles in logistics, corporate strategy, aircraft and—later—engine overhaul, and subsequently as head of the components business, he gained a comprehensive understanding of the company. In January 2019, Harald Gloy joined the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG as Chief Operating Officer (COO), and from 2021 onward, he also served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Director of Labor Relations (“Arbeitsdirektor”). He then returned to Lufthansa Technik in 2022 as a member of the Executive Board. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) and “Accountable Manager,” he is responsible for all operational processes and IT for the company. In addition, he took over responsibility for human resources as Director of Labor Relations on the Executive Board of Lufthansa Technik for three years until 2025.

As Soeren will continue to lead the company until Harald takes office on February 1, 2027, I look forward to working closely with both of them to ensure continuity and a smooth transition,” Grazia Vittadini added.

Soeren Stark (59) has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Technik AG since 2022, having been appointed to the company’s Executive Board as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Accountable Manager in 2019. After completing his studies in Berlin and Paris and holding initial positions at consulting and industrial firms, the graduate in industrial engineering began his career with the Lufthansa Group in 2001 as plant manager of the catering company LSG Sky Chefs at Frankfurt Airport and, starting in 2004, developed Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services as its managing director. As head of aircraft overhaul at Lufthansa Technik, he drove forward the integration and unified management of the international overhaul sites, as well as the expansion of the global network. In 2016, he was appointed to the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo as COO, before returning to Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg three years later.

A decision on Harald Gloy’s successor as COO on the Executive Board will be made as soon as possible.
