Women’s Champions League league phase draw: How to watch, fixture dates, confirmed teams

Sonia Bompastor’s side completed the job in the third qualifying round of the Women’s Champions League with a 1-0 win away at Real Sociedad on Wednesday evening, thanks to Keira Walsh’s second-half goal.

That gave us a 6-2 victory over the Spaniards on aggregate and put our name in the hat for the next stage of the competition.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the draw for the league phase of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The draw takes place at 11am UK time (12pm CET) on Friday 4 September.

The draw will be streamed live on UEFA.com and the official UEFA Women’s Champions League app and will last around 45 minutes.

The draw takes place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Nine teams qualified automatically for the league phase and are joined by nine clubs, including Chelsea, who entered via the third qualifying round play-off ties.

Under the format introduced last season, teams face fixtures against six different sides in the league phase, playing half of those matches at home and half of them away.

The 18 participating teams will be split into three pots based on their individual club coefficient ranking, with Chelsea among the top seeds in Pot 1. Each team will then be drawn to play two opponents from each of the three pots, playing one match against a team from each pot at home and one away.

In principle, teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other, and each team may play against a maximum of two opponents from any other one association, although UEFA reserves the right to adapt this rule in case of deadlock situations or any other relevant constraints.

There are 18 teams competing at this stage of the competition. The Blues will face two sides from each of the three pots below, but clubs from the same association are kept apart at this stage.

It means we cannot be paired with another English club in the league phase.
