Helium Launches HeliumOS, the Platform for the Business of Connectivity
Built by the team behind the decentralized Helium Network, the new platform gives carriers, MVNOs, network operators, and brands the intelligent software to launch and scale connectivity businesses in the AI era.
Helium, the leader in decentralized wireless communications and intelligent connectivity solutions, today announced the launch of HeliumOS, the operating system for the business of connectivity. HeliumOS is an integrated platform that gives carriers, MVNOs, network operators, and brands the intelligent and interoperable solutions they need to launch, operate, and scale connectivity businesses faster and smarter.
Network operators spend nearly $200 billion a year building and maintaining wireless infrastructure, yet 70–80% of mobile use happens indoors where macro networks degrade fastest, and carriers have the least visibility. It’s a global industrial problem: the capacity carriers need already exists across Wi-Fi networks, but until now there’s been no single platform to see that connectivity, control it, and put it to work. At the same time, businesses looking to launch connectivity services face a fragmented operational stack spanning subscriber management, billing, carrier integrations, and customer support.
HeliumOS addresses both challenges by bringing trust, visibility, and control carriers require to confidently leverage Wi-Fi connectivity, while giving businesses the infrastructure and operating tools they need to launch and scale connectivity services. Built from Helium’s experience operating the Helium Network and consumer carrier Helium Mobile, acquired by Noble Mobile earlier this year, HeliumOS brings that technology to market as a commercial platform for carriers, MVNOs, ISPs, and consumer brands.
“People don’t think about how they’re connected; they simply expect reliable connectivity wherever they are,” said Mario Di Dio, CEO of Helium. “For decades, connectivity meant building and owning the largest network of macro cell towers. The future of wireless is distributed infrastructure and convergence, with cellular, satellite, and Wi-Fi working together, intelligently routing traffic across every available network to deliver the best experience for users where connectivity is needed the most. HeliumOS is how we do that.”
HeliumOS is natively integrated with the Helium Network, the largest people-built wireless network, spanning tens of thousands of access points across the United States and expanding into Mexico and Brazil. That native connection gives carriers something no software-only platform can: a direct lever to route subscribers more efficiently across real infrastructure, easing pressure on cost and margins as demand grows. The Helium Network already operates at carrier scale, serving millions of users daily, enabling Wi-Fi offload for major carriers, and proving its reliability during large public events like Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl.
“Helium is playing a leading role in our industry work to advance carrier-grade Wi-Fi as a strategic extension of mobile networks,” said Tiago Rodrigues, President & CEO of the Wireless Broadband Alliance. “By enabling operators to use Wi-Fi to augment coverage and capacity where it is needed most, Helium is helping accelerate the role of Wi-Fi as a true carrier-grade asset. We’re pleased to see that leadership from an active member translating into solutions that give operators greater visibility and control as they converge Wi-Fi into their networks.”
Since no two providers are alike, HeliumOS can be customized to meet each customer’s specific needs, with a suite of intelligent and interoperable solutions, including:
-
Carrier Enablement Platform: A complete BSS/OSS platform for launching and growing a wireless business, subscriber management, billing, SIM activation, provisioning, customer support, and carrier integrations in one place, with real-time visibility into network performance and usage.
-
Intelligent Analytics: Agentic, no-code access to network data through HeliumAI. Query coverage, QoS (quality of service), and deployment data. Plus, generate dashboards or connect via MCP server into your own AI stack.
-
WOX (Wi-Fi Offload Experience): Real-time intelligent session control that decides whether a connection should happen, not just whether it’s allowed, improving user experience and efficiency across converged wireless networks.
-
Wi-Fi Toolkit: Wi-Fi offload built into mobile apps, keeping customers automatically and seamlessly connected across stores, venues, campuses, and other locations, no password needed, while reducing infrastructure costs.
-
Helium Network Integration: Leverage Helium Network, the largest decentralized wireless network, to expand carrier-grade coverage—a direct lever on the cost of mobile data delivery.
HeliumOS is live and signed on with Affinity Ventures, the company that owns and operates both Noble Mobile and Helium Mobile .
“We got into this business because people were tired of their phones owning them. We wanted to give people back control over their time, attention, and money,” said Andrew Yang, CEO of Noble Mobile and now Helium Mobile. “HeliumOS’s Carrier Enablement solution gives us the subscriber management we need without building that infrastructure ourselves. The Wi-Fi Toolkit gives us real visibility and control over the offload experience, with intelligent analytics to see exactly what our customers are getting so we can offload them onto the Helium Network with confidence. That’s what this is really about: less time managing infrastructure, more time giving our customers the quality connectivity they deserve.”
