Americas Cardroom’s Alex Foxen Chases Two Player of the Year Titles

Americas Cardroom Pro Alex Foxen has put himself in position to challenge for two of poker’s leading year-end honors after a 2026 run featuring five titles, a fourth World Series of Poker bracelet and more than $2 million in WSOP payouts.

Foxen currently tops the Global Poker Index Player of the Year standings with 4,480.04 points. Tony “Ren” Lin is second at 4,321.52, giving Foxen a 158.52-point cushion in a system that counts each player’s 13 strongest qualifying results.

His margin in the Card Player race is measured differently. Brandon Wilson leads with 7,127 points, just ahead of Foxen’s 7,109. Jesse Lonis is third with 6,481 points.

Results from five different stops have kept Foxen in both conversations. His 2026 wins began with PGT Last Chance Event #6 for $232,400 and MSPT Poker Bowl X for $165,235. He then captured the $75,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max event at Triton Jeju for $1.26 million before taking U.S. Poker Open Event #7 for $210,000.

The fifth title arrived at the World Series of Poker. Foxen defeated 466 entries in the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty event, collecting $594,246 and his fourth career bracelet. Across the summer, he recorded 14 WSOP cashes and $2,067,005 in listed payouts.

Foxen joined the Americas Cardroom Pro roster alongside Chance Kornuth and Chris Hunichen on May 28 with four of those titles already secured. His bracelet victory became the largest win of his first summer representing the brand.

The closing months leave both races open. Foxen is seeking a third GPI Player of the Year title after winning in 2018 and 2019, as well as his first Card Player honor after five previous top-four finishes.

Those Card Player finishes include third in 2018, second in 2019, fourth in both 2021 and 2022, and third in 2025.
