Channel 4 announces gripping new murder mystery Complicit, starring Claire Goose

Channel 4 has announced Complicit, a compelling new six-part murder mystery that peers into the shadows of a suburban neighbourhood and the hidden lives of its residents, from Tall Story Pictures and Metropolitan Pictures, written and created by Caroline Carver (The Bay, Grace).

Claire Goose (Gone, The Bay) leads the cast as Jen Molloy, starring alongside Moe Dunford (House of Guinness, The Dry) who plays Jen’s lover, Damian Barr, and Jason O’Mara (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Man in the High Castle) as her husband, Chris Molloy.

When Jen Molloy slips back home after a night of passion with a man who isn’t her husband, she has no idea how devastating the consequences will be. When a death follows, one split-second lie threatens to destroy everything she holds dear. If protecting your family meant allowing a killer to walk free… what choice would you make?

Complicit explores the terrifying ripples of a single untruth and the contradictions of how far we will go to protect everything we love whilst fighting an insatiable pull towards something more dangerous. Secrets are only secrets if they stay hidden…

Caroline Carver leads the writing team with additional episodes from Evan Placey (The Bay, The Tattooist of Auschwitz), Tom Farrelly (Fool Me Once, Lazarus) and Fran Harris (Blue Lights, Clean Sweep).

Directed by Brian O’Malley (Frauds, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue), Patrick O’Donoghue (The Walsh Sisters, The Tourist) and David McLoughlin (KIN, How to Get To Heaven From Belfast) serve as producers.

Executive Producers are Catherine Oldfield (The Bay, Bancroft, Trauma), Creative Director of Tall Story Pictures, alongside Jenna Robbins (The Bay, We Hunt Together) for Tall Story. Catherine Tiernan (Wednesday, The Tourist S2) executive produces for Metropolitan Pictures.

Complicit has been acquired by Polly Scates, Head of Acquisitions at Channel 4.

Complicit is a co-production between Tall Story Pictures, part of ITV Studios, and Metropolitan Pictures. Made in association with Channel 4, ITV Studios, Virgin Media Television Ireland, Screen Ireland and the Coimisiún na Meán Sound & Vision Fund. ITV Studios will handle international distribution.
