Alexandre Renoue Appointed Beverage Manager of Bar Trigona at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur welcomes Alexandre Renoue as Beverage Manager of Bar Trigona, one of Asia’s most acclaimed cocktail bars.

With a career spanning Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States, Alex now leads the next chapter of Bar Trigona, building on its long-standing commitment to Malaysian ingredients, thoughtful craftsmanship and warm hospitality.

“I am thrilled to join the team and contribute to one of the world’s greatest hotel bars,” shares Alex. “Bar Trigona’s story has been shaped by some truly exceptional bartenders. My goal is to honour their vision while guiding the bar’s continued evolution.”

For Alex, great cocktails begin with curiosity – it is the instinct that has steered his journey through lauded bars around the world, creating an approach centred on local discovery. His perspective finds a natural home at Bar Trigona, aligning with the team’s philosophy of celebrating Malaysia’s flavours and traditions through cocktails rooted in their surroundings.

Growing up on the Mediterranean island of Corsica, hospitality was part of everyday life for Alex. Yet bartending was never part of the plan. In fact, he had his sights set on chemical engineering before a part-time shift behind the bar changed the course of his career.

Influenced by France’s Experimental Cocktail Club movement and later mentored by renowned bartender Jimmy Barrat, Alex refined his craft at Zuma Dubai, describing it as “an education in discipline and consistency”. He then joined a luxury hotel group to explore new challenges in Asia, from supporting a preopening project in Sri Lanka to leading a bar in the Philippines to global recognition.

Alex began his Four Seasons journey in Mumbai, followed by a move to Four Seasons Hotel Nashville, where he oversaw the beverage program across multiple venues, curating immersive moments inspired by the rhythm and character of Music City.

Working across diverse regions and cultures, Alex arrived at a belief that now shapes his approach at Bar Trigona: while every destination celebrates cocktails in its own way, people ultimately want to have a good time.

“Visiting a bar should feel effortless,” he says. “As mixologists, much of our work happens behind the scenes so guests can simply relax, discover something new and enjoy the moment. This is exactly the feeling Bar Trigona aims to create through its welcoming ambience, intuitive service and cocktails with a sense of play.”

Passionate about mentorship, Alex enjoys helping young bartenders develop confidence, technique and their own unique style. Long after service ends, the ideas continue to flow through experimentation, tastings and feedback – the starting point for tomorrow’s cocktails.

Alex steps into his new role as Bar Trigona marks yet another milestone, appearing on Asia’s 50 Best Bars for the eighth consecutive year by Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026. As Beverage Manager, he is committed to preserving the legacy that has earned the bar international acclaim while thoughtfully evolving the guest experience through craft, curiosity and a passion for place. Working closely with Malaysian farmers and artisan producers, he will continue championing local fruits, herbs, spices and trigona honey.
