Foxen and Moneymaker Shown in ESPN’s WSOP Main Event Coverage

Americas Cardroom Pros Alex Foxen and Chris Moneymaker captured attention during ESPN’s early episodes covering the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event.

The Main Event drew 9,208 players and created an $85,634,400 prize pool, with $10 million reserved for the champion.

Foxen was a presence in the opening episodes. ESPN highlighted one of his most difficult decisions when Vinh Nguyen moved all in for more than 50 big blinds.

Foxen held ace-jack after Nguyen raised and another player made a small three-bet. He studied the betting sequence, considered Nguyen’s earlier play and listened to his table talk before calling.

The read proved correct. Nguyen showed jack-ten, and Foxen stayed ahead to win the 142,500-chip pot and eliminate his opponent.

Moneymaker’s memorable moment arrived during the “Bubble Cam” segment in Episode 3.

The 2003 Main Event champion was eliminated during hand-for-hand play after encountering Antonio Vargas’ pocket aces. Moneymaker, Stoyan Madanzhiev and Zhaken Seitbekov exited on the same hand while only two minimum-cash positions remained.

The available $30,000 was split evenly, giving each player $10,000. Moneymaker was still among the players whose elimination officially burst the tournament’s money bubble.

The sequence carried added historical weight. Moneymaker’s 2003 Main Event victory helped introduce televised poker to a larger audience and inspired many online players to pursue their own tournament opportunities.

Foxen’s calculated call and Moneymaker’s dramatic exit gave Americas Cardroom visibility during two defining moments from ESPN’s early Main Event coverage.
