Barbie® Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Barbie™ in the Nutcracker with a New Doll Collection Ahead of an All-New Animated Special

Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) announced that Barbie is officially kicking off the countdown to the holiday season with an all-new doll collection, arriving at retailers this month. Inspired by the beloved holiday film and the reimagined world of the upcoming Barbie in the Nutcracker animated special, this line invites a new generation of kids to experience the magic of one of the most cherished Barbie stories.

Fans can revisit the original Barbie in the Nutcracker film on Netflix this September before an all-new animated special comes to Netflix this November.

Produced by Mattel Studios, the new special stars Barbie “Malibu” as Clara, Barbie “Brooklyn” as the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Ken as the Nutcracker. Together, they journey through enchanted lands, rescue the Nutcracker and face off against the mischievous Rat King. The special features ballet-meets-hip-hop dance numbers and delivers a story about friendship, courage, and believing in yourself.

Arriving just as families begin building their holiday wish lists, the Barbie collection brings fan-favorite characters to life through a Barbie lens, including Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Chelsea Snow Fairies, Land of Sweets ballerinas, magical horses, and more. Available at mass retailers nationwide beginning this month, the collection includes eight toys featuring innovative play experiences, including a ballet-spring ankle that mimics real ballet positions.

Launching later this Fall, the celebration continues with the release of the Barbie Signature® Sugar Plum Princess 25th Anniversary Nutcracker Doll available on Amazon and created especially for collectors and fans who grew up watching the classic 2001 film. Inspired by the original Sugar Plum Princess Barbie, the commemorative doll features an elegant ballerina gown and a fully poseable ballerina body, making it a timeless keepsake that celebrates 25 years of holiday magic.
