PWHL Hamilton Signs Forward Anna Shokhina

PWHL Hamilton today announced that forward Anna Shokhina has been signed to a one-year Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player Agreement for the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season. The signing brings the Hamilton roster up to 14 players under contract for the upcoming campaign.

Shokhina was selected by the Ottawa Charge in the second round of the 2025 PWHL Draft and finished her rookie season with the Vancouver Goldeneyes following a six-player trade on Jan. 18, amassing five points (2G, 3A) across 28 games. Prior to the PWHL, the 29-year-old from Novosinkovo, Russia, had an impressive 2024-25 season with Dynamo-Neva St. Petersburg where she scored 30 goals and led the league with 73 points in 42 games, then led the playoffs with nine goals and 16 points through nine games. She is a four-time Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) champion, having won once with Dynamo-Neva St. Petersburg and three times with Tornado Dimitrov, a team she captained for eight seasons. Internationally, Shokhina is a three-time Olympian (2014, 2018, 2022), competed at the 2017 and 2019 IIHF Women’s World Championships, and is a three-time Universiade gold medallist.

On PWHL Hamilton, Shokhina is the eighth forward to sign following former Ottawa teammates Emily Clark, Brianne Jenner, Peyton Hemp and Alexa Vasko, while joining Abby Hustler, Alina Müller and Kayla Vespa. The roster also includes defenders Zoe Boyd, Riley Brengman, Nicole Gosling, Anna Kjellbin and Allyson Simpson, plus goaltender Kayle Osborne.
