Siemens Mobility and Technis have signed a partnership agreement to prepare local maintenance capabilities for future Vectron locomotive operations in France. Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility will use Technis’ established network of eleven maintenance sites to provide service access once Vectron locomotives enter operation in the French market.

The cooperation combines Siemens Mobility’s Vectron platform expertise, digital maintenance tools, spare-parts logistics and European service network with Technis’ industrial capabilities in France. Technis contributes nationwide workshop coverage, mobile maintenance teams and nearly 500 specialized employees. This enables Siemens Mobility to rely on existing local infrastructure and support future Vectron operators close to their operations and along key French rail corridors.

“The French rail market plays an important role in the continued growth of Vectron in Europe. This partnership marks a milestone in preparing best-in-class service capabilities for future operations in France. By leveraging Technis’ established local maintenance locations and combining it with Siemens Mobility’s Vectron expertise, digital tools and spare-parts logistics, we are creating a strong foundation for high fleet availability and long-term operational performance,” said Elmar Zeiler, CEO Customer Services at Siemens Mobility.

Technis’ sites, including locations in Lens, Dijon and Thionville, are strategically positioned on major French freight and passenger routes. Their integration into Siemens Mobility’s European service setup will support a scalable maintenance offering for future Vectron fleets in France.

“The Vectron is already a true success story across Europe, and we are eager to see it operating in France. Technis is ready to welcome it and support it across the country. Siemens and Technis share the same commitment to delivering the highest quality of service to their customers. We are also united by a common ambition: to contribute to the growth of rail freight and help drive the transition to a more sustainable future. I would like to thank Siemens Mobility France, for the trust they have placed in Technis,” said Tristan Rouzčs, President of Technis.

Siemens Mobility already supports Vectron maintenance across Europe with predictive maintenance and diagnostic tools developed within Siemens over many years, as well as a centralized spare-parts logistics system with access to more than 8,000 part references. For future operations in France, spare-parts availability will be supported via MoBase, Siemens Mobility’s digital spare-parts platform, enabling efficient parts identification, ordering and supply for maintenance activities. These capabilities are designed to help reduce downtime, optimize fleet availability, and support reliable locomotive operations.

The partnership further strengthens Siemens Mobility’s position in the French rail market and supports the continued development of the Vectron platform in Europe.
