NEW YORK,— MetLife today announced the creation and installation of Disability Process Automation (DPA), a new proprietary application which automates the prioritization and distribution of claims professionals’ work to strengthen claims management procedures and help drive superior service. MetLife is seeking a patent on this new system.

MetLife’s DPA automates the prioritization of claims management tasks so the most critical work is handled first. DPA also identifies the claims professional that will handle the next step on a claim. By reducing the number of manual steps, the new system helps ensure that claims decisions are timely and superior service is consistently delivered.

“MetLife continually seeks opportunities to leverage technology to enhance operations so that employers and employees consistently receive best-in-class service. MetLife’s DPA enhances the quality service we deliver because claims professionals spend more of their time managing claims rather than prioritizing work,” said Michael Fradkin, vice president, MetLife Disability.

The streamlined DPA process also helps ensure that claims are processed in a timely manner by experienced claims professionals even when a particular claims professional is not available. It also helps ensure that when additional information that is required to make a claim decision is received, it is assigned the right priority — eliminating potential payment delays or service issues.

“DPA was actually designed by those with frontline experience in managing disability claims and ensuring customer satisfaction. MetLife’s DPA helps ensure that the claim determination is made in a timely manner,” adds Fradkin.

MetLife’s group disability income insurance programs provide comprehensive coverage and flexible solutions that are valuable to both employees and employers. MetLife is celebrating fifty years as one of the leaders in the group disability insurance business.
