New Balance and Bayer 04 Leverkusen Unveil 2026–27 Away Kit

A design inspired by Farbenstadt, the “City of Colours”

Boston, MA – WEBWIRE

New Balance today unveiled the Bayer 04 Leverkusen 2026-27 away kit, a design inspired by Farbenstadt— “The City of Colours”—and the creative identity that defines the club.

“This kit reflects Leverkusen’s creative DNA,” said Kenny McCallum, Senior Director of New Balance Football Product. “From the Terrarium base to the marbled graphics and subtle cross detailing, each element is designed to capture the distinctive character of the club.”

At the center of the design is a luminous Terrarium base, overlaid with fluid marbled graphics in Light Surf, Faded Teal and Deep Sea flowing across the shoulders and sleeves. White and deep Black Iris accents add contrast and structure, creating a bold but controlled visual identity. Subtle cross details are embedded within the artwork, referencing the iconic Bayer Cross as a constant presence within the club’s visual identity.

“The vibrant blue palette and marbled graphics are inspired by Bayer’s history of innovation and the colours and patterns created through that work,” said Markus Breglec, Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. “That connection helped earn Leverkusen its Farbenstadt nickname, and this kit brings that story to life in a modern and distinctive way that we’ve never done before.”

The jersey is engineered using New Balance’s latest performance technology. Constructed using an advanced performance chassis with integrated jacquard technology, the design supports breathability, comfort, and structure. The kit features engineered jacquard, 100% recycled polyester, integrated zonal mesh, taping device, and innovative chassis construction to meet the demands of the modern game.

The New Balance Bayer 04 Leverkusen away kit will be available to purchase on July 8 at 10:00am BST from http://www.newbalance.com/ and at selected Bayer 04 stores and retailers.
