ACR Poker’s Chris Moneymaker Makes Another Run at the WSOP Main Event

Chris Moneymaker is once again making headlines at the World Series of Poker Main Event.

The ACR Poker Pro appeared on this week’s WSOP Countdown Show before successfully advancing through Day 1D of the 2026 WSOP Main Event, adding another chapter to his long history with poker’s biggest tournament.

During the Countdown Show, Moneymaker joined Jeff Platt, David Williams, and Joe Stapleton to revisit the victory that changed poker forever.

His unforgettable 2003 championship began with an $86 online satellite and ended with a $2.5 million payday in a 839-entry field. The victory inspired a generation of players and became known throughout the industry as the Moneymaker Effect.

The conversation also featured stories from that historic run, including his legendary bluff against Sammy Farha, memories from the production of the original televised Main Event, and the recurring challenge of convincing tournament staff that “Moneymaker” was actually his surname. Looking back, he also reflected on the remarkable growth of the Main Event from its early days at Binion’s to today’s world-famous tournament.

His story at this year’s World Series of Poker is still unfolding.

Moneymaker finished Day 1D with 39,500 chips, securing a place in Day 2 while continuing to represent ACR Poker on poker’s biggest stage.

ACR Poker is also giving players the opportunity to create their own live poker story.

This September’s Moneymaker Poker Tour stop in Aruba features a $400,000 guaranteed Main Event, with ACR Poker guaranteeing 20 prize packages worth $5,000 each. Players can compete for those packages in $95 Beast Tournaments taking place on July 12 and July 19 at 5:05 p.m. ET.

The first 10 Aruba packages will be awarded during the July 12 qualifier.
