Tieto concludes Trusted Digital Societies Veturi programme, strengthening the foundation for AI-driven digital innovation
Tieto has successfully completed its four-year Trusted Digital Societies (Veturi) programme, delivering significant advances in trusted AI, cloud-native software platforms and digital innovation while strengthening Finland’s research and innovation ecosystem.
Conducted in collaboration with more than 200 partners and supported by Business Finland grant, the programme has accelerated the successful adoption of AI-capabilities, established reusable technology foundation and long-term partnerships that will continue to support Tieto’s software businesses, customers and future innovation.
Trusted Digital Societies has been a key part of Tieto’s strategic transformation towards a software- and platform-driven company. Throughout the programme, Tieto developed common cloud-native architecture, shared data foundations and trustworthy AI capabilities that are now being leveraged across its BankTech, CareTech, IndTech and Tech Consulting businesses. These capabilities improve development efficiency, accelerate product innovation and strengthen readiness for evolving regulatory requirements, creating a scalable foundation for future growth.
“Trusted Digital Societies programme demonstrates what can be achieved when industry, academia and the public sector work together around shared long-term objectives,” says Ksenia Avetisova, Strategic Development Lead in Tieto Group Innovation Partnerships.“The programme has strengthened our technology capabilities, expanded our innovation ecosystem and created the foundation that enables faster innovation across our software businesses. It has contributed to Finland’s position as a leader in trusted digitalisation and responsible AI, initiating dialogue and creating value that extends well beyond the programme itself.”
Across chosen sectors, the programme delivered innovations addressing some of the most pressing challenges. These include trusted AI solutions, real-time payment capabilities, healthcare interoperability, AI-assisted clinical support, energy optimisation and digital services that support sustainability, resilience and regulatory compliance. Several technologies developed during the programme have already progressed into product development and commercialisation, while others continue to evolve through ongoing research and customer collaboration. The programme has enhanced collaboration with European research initiatives, creating new opportunities for innovation and future growth.
