Lauren Tarshis Visits The Kelly Clarkson Show, Scholastic Donates One Million Books to Toys for Tots in Clarkson’s Honor

Lauren Tarshis, Senior Vice President and Editor-at-Large at Scholastic and author of the New York Times bestselling I Survived book series, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss her 26th I Survived book, share Scholastic’s mission of expanding reading enjoyment and engagement, and surprise Clarkson with a massive book donation in her honor.

Over the seven seasons of Clarkson’s critically acclaimed show, she has championed literacy and, in partnership with Scholastic, given away millions of books.

To celebrate the final season of her show and to show appreciation for her continued advocacy, Tarshis surprised Clarkson with the news that Scholastic donated one million books to Toys for Tots in her honor.

Tarshis also shared details about her newest book, I Survived The Night of the Lions, 2025, which will come out in September 2026.
