The donation will fund the deployment of a mobile clinic, as well as the procurement and distribution of essential relief items.
Inditex is contributing €3 million to the emergency response programme launched by the Venezuelan Red Cross to support people affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela. The contribution will be channelled through the Spanish Red Cross and coordinated with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
This contribution will support two priority areas of action. Firstly, it will fund the deployment of a mobile clinic to strengthen healthcare capacity in the hardest-hit areas by providing emergency medical assistance, including triage, patient stabilisation, first aid, trauma care and referrals for people requiring hospital treatment. The clinic has the capacity to provide medical services to up to 100 outpatients per day and will be staffed by specialised healthcare professionals working alongside local medical teams.
The contribution will also enable the procurement, distribution and transportation of essential relief items, including water containers, blankets and bed sheets, tarpaulins and tents, kitchen kits, bedding kits and hygiene kits, helping to meet the basic needs of those affected during the initial phase of the emergency.
In addition, Inditex has set up a donation channel to enable monetary contributions from its employees in Spain.
