2026 China Mobile Hand-in-Hand Program Global Partnership Executive Conference Successfully Held
During MWC Shanghai 2026, China Mobile successfully held the Hand-in-Hand Program (hi-H Program) Global Partnership Executive Conference. Themed “From Connectivity to Intelligence: Hand-in-Hand for a Global Digital Future”, the conference brought together over 78 operators and 400+ industry partners worldwide to explore the opportunities for transformation in the communications industry amid the rise of AI, and to discuss new approaches to the coordinated development of the global digital ecosystem. Mr. Li Huidi, Executive Vice President of China Mobile, attended the conference and delivered a speech.
Li Huidi pointed out that AI is transforming the digital economy with three core shifts for telecom. First, submarine and cross-border networks are no longer just internet transit — they form the physical backbone of global computing coordination. Second, computing-network integration and AI services become the industry’s second major growth engine. Third, carrier cooperation extends beyond basic connectivity to full value co-creation. This transformation brings great opportunities, alongside shared challenges: different regional priorities, cross-network technical barriers, inconsistent local compliance rules and long AI investment payback cycles. No operator can thrive alone; open joint collaboration is our best way forward.
Li Huidi also stated that, China Mobile is evolving into a tech service provider focused on telecommunications services, computing and AI solutions. We have built a proven, replicable global cooperation system covering infrastructure, AI technology, commercial operation and compliance. We deliver a global computing-network backbone. Domestically, we run the world’s largest 5G and fiber networks, with 5G-A across 330+ cities and large-scale L4 autonomous networks. The industry is shifting from isolated intelligence to cross-domain end-to-end collaboration. Ran, Core, Transmission and IP networks can no longer operate independently. They must collaborate around the complete customer journey-from user to connection, from connection to service to create autonomous flows. We operate 12 global core submarine cables and over 100 combined cable assets. We reduce latency on cross-border routes between Asia-Europe and China-Singapore to under 105ms and 35ms. Our cross-border computing scheduling platform and mature network upgrade solutions help partners lower costs and enable smooth cross-region computing circulation. We provide full-stack AI services. Supported by over 107 EFLOPS of domestic intelligent computing power, our MOMA platform hosts over 300 large models. We deliver localized model tuning in full compliance with local data laws. We share mature, deployable commercial models. We have completed 48,000+ 5G and AI benchmark projects across 40 vertical industries, with 50 self-developed industry large models. We also offer complete security and compliance solutions to help partners satisfy local regulatory requirements and secure cross-border cooperation.
Li Huidi expressed that, by standing together and deepening partnership, we will seize this historic AI opportunity, drive high-quality growth for global telecom and build a brighter digital future for all.
During panel discussions, China Mobile further explored the development trends of the global submarine cable industry in the AI era with industry partners including Sparkle, Telin, and HMN Tech. At the “AI+ Smart Solutions Workshop” hosted by Detecon, representatives from China Mobile IoT, China Mobile International, Telenor, XLSmart (Indonesia), and Deutsche Telekom expressed views and shared insights on the opportunities and challenges telecom operators facing in the AI era.
During the conference, China Mobile set up a dedicated exhibition area showcasing China Mobile’s leading products and capabilities, including Autonomous Network Consulting, 5G Consulting, AI+ Smart Home, SmartPark, AI Hub, mFirewall, JegoTrip and MIGU Short Drama products, demonstrating China Mobile’s core strengths on all fronts in communications infrastructure, computing engine, and intelligent application.
Looking ahead, China Mobile will continue to deepen its global cooperation under the Hand-in-Hand Program, joining forces with partners to pursue shared success and jointly write a new chapter of open collaboration in the global digital economy.
(Note: The “hi-HProgram” is a global partnership ecosystem platform initiated by China Mobile in 2015. It is built on openness, connectivity, and collaboration, and keeps expanding the boundaries of cooperation, starting from roaming connectivity. It has brought together 32 leading global telecom partners and served over 3 billion customers, and has become a key ecosystem platform connecting the global communications industry.)
