Accor Design Awards celebrates its 10th anniversary and congratulates its 2026 winners
The 10th edition of the Design Challenge was inspired by Pullman Hotels & Resorts, with a focus on blending business with culture for an immersive take on meetings & event spaces
Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, has announced the winners of its annual Accor Design Awards at an official ceremony held at the LAUFEN Forum in Basel. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Accor Design Awards is a worldwide competition for architecture and interior design students. For 2026, Accor put the spotlight on Pullman Hotels & Resorts, inviting contestants to reimagine meeting and event spaces through the lens of an iconic hospitality brand rooted in innovation, connection, and a forward-thinking spirit.
First Prize was awarded to Eruption, a project designed by Domitille Lugagne of ESAIL Lyon. Second Prize & Public Choice Award were both won by Senses of Dubai, by Ana Cristina Lara Sanabria and Camilla Lari Prado of IED Madrid. Third prize went to Baum Haus Berlin by Stephani Rodríguez Jiménez and Arely Jocelyn Morales Salazar of LCI Barcelona. The competition also awards the Head Judge Prize, awarded to Clock by Zoé Borde and Ines Favre of ESAIL Lyon.
The winning projects will be exhibited at MAISON&OBJET in Paris, as part of the “10 Years of Accor Design Awards” celebration in September 2026, marking a decade of discovering emerging talent and shaping new perspectives in hospitality design. As part of the program, Accor will also host a dedicated talk at MAISON&OBJET on 11 September, bringing together Damien Perrot (Accor), former Head Judges the Sundukovy Sisters and Ramy Fischler, and past Accor Design Awards winner Thibaut Petris to reflect on ten years of creativity, mentorship, and the competition’s impact on the future of hospitality design.
“We wish to sincerely congratulate the winners of the 2026 Accor Design Awards, for their vision, their intense efforts, and the passion which is so evident in each of the four winning projects,” said Damien Perrot, Global Chief Design, Technical Services & Innovation Officer for Accor’s Premium, Midscale & Economy division. “We believe that interior designers and architects are strategists and visionaries. They understand today’s lifestyle trends and are capable of translating them into unique spaces and experiences. We have great confidence that the winners of the Accor Design Awards will go on to create meaningful and impactful places, not just in hospitality, but in the world beyond.”
Founded in 2016, the Accor Design Awards offer the chance for students of architecture and interior design to imagine hospitality venues of the future, while giving Accor the opportunity to support the next generation of designers. Each year, Accor provides a brief which outlines the competition’s theme. Once projects are submitted, Accor’s Global Design & Technical Services team, working alongside a VIP Jury, selects the three best projects. The 2026 Jury included hospitality experts and was led by world-renowned designer and architect, Rodrigo Marcondes Ferraz, of FGMF Arquitetos, based in São Paulo, Brazil.
The 2026 competition brief featured Pullman Hotels & Resorts, a brand that brings together business, culture and social life to create spaces where ideas, people and perspectives converge. Students were challenged to reimagine meetings and event spaces that reflect Pullman’s evolving vision of hospitality: environments that enable meaningful exchange, move seamlessly between work and social experiences, and integrate thoughtful design with intuitive technology. Sustainability was central to every proposal, with contestants encouraged to develop bold, future-focused concepts that reduced environmental impact through energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions and responsible material choices.
“We have been incredibly impressed with the caliber of projects submitted. It has been inspiring to see how students creatively infused their work with Pullman’s signature style of blending business with culture, productivity with social energy, and technology with immersive design,” said Natasha Mohammed, Global Vice President, Pullman. “I’m very proud that Accor takes an active role in the future of hospitality design with a clear visionary focus on guests’ expectations around lifestyle, sustainability and wellness. By supporting the emerging talent of these students and providing a global platform for their work, we are shaping the hospitality industry of tomorrow.”
Accor wishes to thank all those involved in bringing the Accor Design Awards to life over the past 10 years – from students and schools to jury members – and especially the founding sponsors of the awards: LAUFEN Bathrooms and Roca Group. Thank you also to this year’s key sponsors: Atlas Concorde, Ege Carpets, LedsC4, JVD and MAISON&OBJET for their partnership and support.
