Prime Video Reveals Additional Eight Cast Members for Boys of Tommen

Prime Video today announced new cast members for Boys of Tommen, the highly anticipated sweeping romantic drama TV series based on the BookTok sensation and #1 New York Times bestselling series by Irish author Chloe Walsh. After a widespread search, Prime Video confirms Amelia May as Claire Biggs, John Hewson as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan and Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry. The search for Patrick Feely is still underway.

The exciting lineup of fresh faces are the newest to join the series, directed by VMA nominated Brendan Canty (Christy) and will join Nancy Surridge (Shannon Lynch), Conor Sánchez (Johnny Kavanagh) James O’Donoghue (Joey Lynch) and Sophie McGibbon (Aoife Molly).

Boys of Tommen follows the forbidden love story of Johnny Kavanagh, the star rugby player on the verge of a pro career, and Shannon Lynch, the talented but painfully shy new girl at the prestigious private school of Tommen College in Ballylaggin, Ireland. Both teenagers are hiding secrets; Johnny, a potentially career-ending injury, and Shannon, a troubled and violent homelife. Through their secret and highly charged connection, the two teens from opposite worlds battle against the odds and find a way to save each other.

The series, which was greenlit earlier this year, is produced by global independent studio wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Metropolitan providing local production services. Series one has been adapted by Poppy Cogan (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder) and will be based on the first two novels in Walsh’s bestselling series, “Binding 13” and “Keeping 13”. Cogan also serves as Executive Producer alongside author of the series, Chloe Walsh, wiip’s Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and Sean Flanagan, Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman and Annika Patton and Drama Republic’s Greg Brenman and Deena Butt. Carla Stronge serves as casting director, leading an extensive search to find the right talent for every role. VMA nominated Brendan Canty (Christy) will direct the series, while Ingrid Goodwin joins as Series Producer.

Boys of Tommen will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide as part of Amazon MGM Studios’ expanding global slate of premium international scripted series and dedication to delivering book-to-screen adaptations.

About The Cast

Amelia May (Claire Biggs)

Amelia May’s acting journey began at Dragon Drama and developed further at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, alongside workshops with the National Youth Theatre. She made her screen debut in the BBC series Wild Cherry, playing Allegra, one of the central teenage characters whose friendship with her best friend Grace becomes embroiled in a scandal at their exclusive private school. Wild Cherry is a six‑part BBC drama that explores mother‑daughter relationships, social media pressures and the unraveling of lives in a seemingly perfect gated community, starring Eve Best and Carmen Ejogo.

John Hewson (Gerard Gibson)

John Hewson’s first feature was Finnegan’s Foursome, directed by Edward Burns. John then went on to shoot the supernatural thriller, Hide and Don’t Speak, directed by Alexander J. Farrell. John also stars in the six-part comedy series These Sacred Vows, written and directed by John Butler, opposite Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Justine Mitchell, Jason O’Mara and India Mullen.

Indy Lewis (Lizzie Young)

Indy can currently be seen as Mychal in two series of House of David. She recently played the role of Margaret opposite James Norton in King & Conqueror for the BBC. Indy was cast as the role of Venetia in the first series of Industry on HBO and went on to appear in two further series. She made her screen debut playing Stanley Tucci’s daughter in La Fortuna for Movistar.

Alex Dunne (Hugh Biggs)

Alex Dunne trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He is making his screen debut as Hughie in Boys of Tommen. Some of Alex’s theatre work includes The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, David Copperfield, and The Lonesome West with The Richard Burton Company, as well as Much Ado About Nothing at RWCMD.

Dixie Egerickx (Katie Wilmot)

Dixie has a vast number of credits. At the age of 13 she was named as a SCREEN INTERNATIONAL STAR OF TOMORROW 2019 where she is one of only a handful of under 16 year olds to make it onto this prestigious list. Dixie can be seen in the feature film Rich Flu alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rafe Spall and Timothy Spall. Dixie played the lead role in the Heyday Films/StudioCanal 2020 adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel The Secret Garden, opposite Academy Award winner Colin Firth and Academy Award nominee Julie Walters and written by Jack Thorne and directed by three time BAFTA winner Marc Munden. In 2022, she also featured in Apple+ series The Essex Serpent alongside Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston. In 2018 Dixie appeared in director/writer Helen O’Hanlon’s short film Mirette (2018) starring in the title role of Mirette alongside Miriam Margolyes and Tom Conti. In 2018 Dixie appeared in Academy Award nominee Lenny Abrahamson’s psychological thriller The Little Stranger (2018) an adaptation of Sarah Waters’ neo-gothic novel of the same name. Starring alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson and Charlotte Rampling Dixie plays the pivotal role of Gillian Baker-Hyde, whose gruesome encounter with a dog is the catalyst for the horrific events to follow. In 2020 she appeared with Gemma Arterton, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Penelope Wilton in Olivier Award winning writer/director Jessica Swale’s film directing debut Summerland, which is set during the second world war. Dixie played Edie, a feisty little girl who likes to imagine she’s a bit of a feminist and a maverick.

Daisy Jacob (Bella Wilkinson)

Daisy is best known for her role as the Young Maggie in the BBC and Working Title adaptation of Dolly Alderton’s Everything I know About Love. She most recently appeared in the third season of Boarders for BBC, the second series of Tell Me Everything for ITV, and the second series of Patience for Channel 4. She began her career in the National Theatre’s productions of the Hard Problem, directed by Nick Hyntner, and Emil and the Detectives, directed Bijan Shebani.

Jonathan Heed (Cormac Ryan)

Jonathan first trained at the Gaiety School of Acting before honing his craft at the National Screen Acting School of Ireland. Jonathan’s on-screen credits include the short film, A Knock At Your Door, directed by Alan Hopkins for Hal Pictures; and his own short film, What You Will. Jonathan has shot roles in a number of projects awaiting release including Frank Berry’s latest feature film, The Lost Children of Tuam; and Lemonade opposite Barry Keoghan, a feature film from director Kim Bartley.

Cathal Ó Síocháin (Ronan McGarry)

Cathal is an exciting actor who is currently in his final year at LAMDA and is also a student of Open Door.
