Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama meets with Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi

Eni Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi met in Tirana with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Edi Rama. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Enea Karakaçi, and the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj.

During the meeting, Eni, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation signed a memorandum of intent to jointly carry out a feasibility study aimed at establishing and managing a national strategic hydrocarbons reserve and an energy hub in the country.

The Prime Minister and Eni’s CEO also shared updates on Eni’s various activities in the country, with particular reference to the Albania–Italy renewable power merchant interconnection project and exploration activities.

Eni was present in Albania in the early 1990s and re-entered the country in 2019.
