About the Author:

Samina Muqarab is an educator, entrepreneur, and author whose life journey bridges faith, resilience, and purposeful action. Born and raised in a small village in Pakistan, she grew up studying by lantern light, guided by parents who deeply valued education—especially for girls. Those early experiences shaped her conviction that while circumstances may limit resources, they should never limit vision.

In 2006, she immigrated to Canada with her husband and three young children, carrying little more than hope, faith, and a strong work ethic. Like many newcomers, she faced the challenges of starting over, including unrecognized credentials, language barriers, financial uncertainty, and the emotional weight of rebuilding identity in a new country. Rather than giving in to discouragement, she chose to rebuild step by step.

Through perseverance and strategic planning, Samina requalified herself, worked multiple jobs, and eventually returned to her calling in education. In 2015, she founded the Skyview Kumon Learning Centre in Calgary, which has since supported hundreds of students in developing strong academic foundations, confidence, and independence. What began as a small initiative has grown into a respected community institution rooted in compassion, discipline, and a belief in every child’s potential.

Samina is the author of Pray. Plan. Proceed., a transformational book that blends memoir with practical frameworks for women, immigrants, educators, and purpose-driven leaders.
