Polestar strengthens charging convenience for South Korean drivers by expanding access to fast-charging network

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – WEBWIRE

Polestar continues to strengthen charging access and convenience for its drivers in South Korea. South Korean drivers have access to over 490,000 public charging points, which makes South Korea the OECD country with the most advanced charging environment, with approximately one charger for every 1.8 electric vehicles. Polestar customers using the TMAP in-car navigation system can view available public charging points across the country, allowing for seamless and optimised route planning*.

As a next step, Polestar will in 2029 transition selected models to the North American Charging System in South Korea to provide a greater range of convenient charging options**.

Jason Ham, Managing Director, Polestar South Korea, says: “Through access to the NACS charging environment in South Korea, combined with the planned installation of 400 Polestar destination-based chargers by 2030, we look forward to significantly elevating the charging convenience for Polestar customers in South Korea”

Olivier Loedel, Polestar Head of Software Product Management, says: “Enabling customers to charge their Polestar conveniently, whether at home or on the road, and providing access to the widest network coverage possible, removes one of the most common barriers to transitioning to EV ownership.”

Polestar has offered customers in North America access to the Tesla Supercharger network through a NACS adapter since 2024. In Europe, the network was first included in the Polestar Charge offer in 2024, giving access to more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across Europe. Since the end of 2025 it has been fully integrated into the Polestar Charge app and in-car navigation system Google Maps. This is part of Polestar’s strategy to build a seamless ecosystem and enhance everyday charging convenience, by strengthening interoperability and standardization across markets.
