HBO Max Lands In New Zealand And Vietnam, Expanding Streaming Footprint In Asia Pacific

HBO Max launches direct-to-consumer in New Zealand and Vietnam today, completing its rollout in key Southeast Asian and ANZ markets. Warner Bros. Discovery’s premier streaming service brings subscribers some of the biggest blockbusters, award-winning series, iconic hits, and family favorites from popular entertainment brands like HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Warner Bros., and more.

In the coming months, fans can gear up for a slate of upcoming exclusive premieres, including HBO Original House of the Dragon Season three on June 22, Max Original Stuart Fails to Save the Universe on July 24, DC Studios’ Lanterns on August 17 and the first season of the new Harry Potter series, titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, debuting at Christmas.

Local subscribers can now enjoy HBO and Max Originals such as The Last of Us, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Game of Thrones and The Pitt, fan favorites, including Friends, The Big Bang Theory, The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball and the entire movie collection of Harry Potter. Award-winning programming, such as True Detective: Night Country, The Penguin, Sinners and One Battle After Another, and blockbuster favorites like The Bride!, “Wuthering Heights” and more are also available on HBO Max. In Vietnam, the service will also feature exclusive Korean entertainment like The Legend of Kitchen Soldier with Park Ji-hoon and Filing For Love with Shin Hae-sun.

HBO Max offers an elevated streaming experience on multiple devices with an easy to navigate interface, seamless search, genre rails, brand hubs and personalization, allowing subscribers to create up to five unique profiles, each customizable with favorite characters as avatars and receive content picks based on viewing habits. Subscribers can also save their preferred content and pick up where they left off with Continue Watching or download to watch on the go. Families can also customize profiles for kids, curated with age-appropriate content and parental controls.
