Stellantis will invest more than €1 billion in France to produce three new Peugeot models in Mulhouse
- Investments will enable the production of three all-new-generation electric and hybrid models based on the new STLA One platform, starting in 2029
- The C-segment models will ensure Peugeot a strong presence in Europe’s flagship market segment, which accounts for approximately 30% of automotive sales.

Stellantis today announced that it will invest more than €1 billion in France to enable the production of three future Peugeot electric and hybrid models in the C-segment, based on the new STLA One platform. These three new vehicles will be assembled at the Mulhouse industrial site (Alsace), starting in 2029.
These investments will contribute to both the development in France of the new STLA One modular platform, as well as to the industrial production of the three new models in Mulhouse.
These projects are fully aligned with the FaSTLAne 2030 strategic plan, presented on May 21, 2026, a key pillar of which is to develop new global platforms, powertrains, and technologies. STLA One is a prime example: a new modular, scalable architecture supporting different powertrains and vehicle sizes, designed to accelerate development cycles and targeting a 20% cost efficiency through simplification at scale.
The three upcoming C-segment models from Peugeot will be 100% electric or hybrid. These launches play a key role within the context of FaSTLAne 2030’s, aligning with two strategic pillars:
- On the one hand, Peugeot ranks among the Company’s four global brands with the strongest potential in terms of volume and profitability. Peugeot is the first brand to launch the STLA One platform, a technology designed for global implementation.
- On the other hand, these investments in the C-segment, which accounts for approximately 30% of total car sales in Europe, are part of Stellantis’ European strategy to strengthen the Company’s market coverage in Europe.
Furthermore, the production of these models in Mulhouse, starting in 2029, demonstrates the ambition to combine electrification with high industrial performance in France, a key country in the Company’s strategy. These investments will boost capacity utilization at the Mulhouse plant – which employes 4,500 employees and is a historic asset for the Company - and will secure the future of the plant by providing long-term visibility amid a period of profound transformation in the automotive sector.
Stellantis welcomes the French government’s strong commitment to decarbonizing mobility through support for the purchase of clean vehicles, as well as its determination to pursue an ambitious and competitive industrial policy in France and Europe, particularly through the “Made-in-Europe” policy initiative. These policies have been instrumental in creating conditions conducive to these investments.
“I am very pleased to announce these investments in France for the production in Mulhouse of three 100% electric and hybrid models from the Peugeot brand. This decision attests to the professionalism and exceptional commitment of our teams,” said Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis, speaking from the Mulhouse site in Alsace. “France perfectly exemplifies Stellantis’ global strategy, presented in our FaSTLAne 2030 plan, where our global scale, our in-depth local knowledge, and our brands come together to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
