The new season of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup starts next week. As part of the Monaco Grand Prix (4–7 June 2026), the new Porsche 911 Cup cars will take to the track. Among the 28 competitors are the two Porsche Juniors, Flynt Schuring from the Netherlands and Marcus Amand from Finland. Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion, is set to make several guest appearances as a VIP driver during the season. The Canadian will make his debut at the second race in Barcelona on 14 June.

The 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is fully booked. Ten teams share the 28 permanent entries. With the exception of the season opener in Monaco, additional guest starters may join for the following seven races. Due to the tight street circuit in the Principality, track regulations permit no more than 28 starters. This international one-make series is the pinnacle of the more than 30 Carrera Cups and Challenges held worldwide. It exists since 1993 and is organised by Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. Once again, all Supercup races will take place in support of Formula 1 events.

Among the confirmed participants, the Netherlands has the largest contingent with five drivers. Among them is Porsche Junior Flynt Schuring, who will be racing for the defending team champion, Schumacher CLRT from France. “I’m looking forward to the season opener in Monaco, even though the races there are hard to predict due to the track’s unique characteristics,” the 19-year-old says. “The brakes on the new Porsche 911 Cup are equipped with ABS, which requires a different approach when driving at the limit. On the bumpy street circuit, the racing ABS definitely helps.”

[p]In total, the Supercup regulars represent 16 different nations. The drivers from Australia, South Africa, and South America have the longest journeys. The second Porsche Junior, Marcus Amand, has a shorter commute: the Finnish-born driver lives in France and races for the Austrian team BWT Lechner Racing. “So far, I’ve only experienced the Monaco Formula 1 circuit in the simulator – that’s about as challenging as it gets for my Supercup debut,” jokes the 20-year-old.

Marcus Amand’s team-mate is Robert de Haan. The Dutchman won the Supercup race in the Principality last year and, after finishing runner-up in the 2025 championship, is regarded as one of the title favourites. In total, eleven Supercup newcomers will compete in the 2026 season. They receive dedicated support through Porsche’s rookie development programme.

“We haven’t seen this much new in the Supercup for a long time: two new teams, eleven rookie drivers and a completely newly developed race car. The 34th season of our international one-make series promises tremendous excitement,” says Oliver Schwab, Project Manager Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. “I’m especially looking forward to Jacques Villeneuve’s appearances in the Porsche 911 Cup. I think it will be a fantastic experience not only for our very young drivers to measure themselves against a Formula 1 World Champion.”

Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve to drive Porsche 911 Cup

High-profile new addition to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup field: Jacques Villeneuve will compete in the VIP nine-eleven. The former Formula 1 World Champion will make his debut at the second Supercup race in Barcelona. In addition to bearing the number 911, his Porsche 911 Cup boasts a striking colour scheme inspired by Villeneuve’s iconic helmet design. The Canadian won the 1997 Formula 1 Championship and in 1995 the IndyCar World Series as well as the “500 Miles of Indianapolis” with this trademark.

“The Cup 911 is a huge new challenge for me, and I’m already enjoying it a lot,” said Villeneuve after the test drives. “After my career in Formula 1, I’ve always done a couple of races here and there. I find it super exciting to adapt to new race cars. The fascination is still the same as it was at the start of my career. The level in Supercup is extremely high – I want to be one of the drivers. I want to compete and be part of this community.”

New 101-octane racing fuel

The fuel blend used in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in the 2026 season, including the eFuel content, technically meets the requirements of the specification defined by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in Appendix J (“advanced sustainable”).

The fuel has been specially developed for the racing boxer engines used and combines high performance with the highest possible proportion of renewable components. The proportion of renewable components in this performance-oriented racing fuel is 80 per cent.

The largest proportion of renewable components comes from so-called eFuel (as defined by the RFNBO: Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin), which is a renewable, synthetic petrol produced via a MTG (methanol-to-gasoline) process. Other renewable components include, for example, waste- or residue-based ethanol, used, amongst other things, to increase the oxygen content in the fuel and the octane rating. This stands at 101 RON (Research Octane Number). The CO₂ reduction is 52 per cent compared to the fossil fuel equivalent (as defined by the EU Renewable Energy Directive at 93.3 gCO₂/MJ).

The e-fuel used originates from the Haru Oni pilot plant in southern Chile, which has been operated by HIF Chile SpA (HIF stands for ’Highly Innovative Fuels’) since 2022. HIF is also taking steps to minimise CO₂ emissions during production. Consequently, all the electricity required for the e-fuel production process, as well as the additional electricity needed for grid connection and control room stabilisation, is sourced from regional wind energy.[/p]Porsche celebrates 75 years of motorsport in Monaco with two legendary cars

Seventy-five years ago, Porsche made its first appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A specially prepared 356 SL won the class for cars up to 1.1 litres displacement. A display in the Supercup paddock in Monaco commemorates this 1951 success: it features the very Porsche 356 SL driven at the time by the French pairing of Auguste Veuillet and Edmond Mouche.

Forty-five years later, Porsche secured another class victory at Le Mans, this time with the 911 GT1. The car that finished second overall in 1996 with drivers Hans-Joachim Stuck, Thierry Boutsen and Bob Wollek will even take to the track in Monaco: it will serve as the lead car, guiding the Supercup field from the paddock to the pit lane.

The season opener on TV and online

The opening race of the 2026 season will take place on Sunday (7 June) from 11:55 am CEST over a distance of 17 laps. Broadcaster Sky Sports will air the race live on linear television. The streaming platform F1TV will also provide live coverage. In addition, the official Live-Timing will provide updates from free practice and qualifying sessions.

Away from race weekends, fans and media representatives can follow the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on social media via Instagram (@porschesupercup) as well as Facebook (@porschesupercup) and X (@PorscheSupercup).
