Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announces the appointment of Jean-Michel Morvan as Managing Director of Alstom for Southern Latin America. Based in Santiago, Chile, he will lead the company’s operations in Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador, covering all product lines and overseeing the region’s overall business performance.

With approximately 20 years of experience at Alstom, Jean-Michel Morvan has a strong track record in general management, P&L responsibility, and the leadership of large, complex turnkey and consortium projects across multiple countries and continents. His career includes senior roles such as Managing Director in Panama, Consortium Projects Director, and Bid Director for turnkey projects in North America, where he was responsible for business performance across multiple countries and for relationships with public authorities and key stakeholders.

Jean-Michel Morvan is a French engineer with extensive experience in the railway sector and in project management on a global scale. He previously held several strategic positions within Alstom. Before taking on his current role, from 2022 to 2026, he led the teams responsible for delivering one of the world’s most ambitious and complex automated metro projects, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) in Montreal, Canada. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers ParisTech, where he earned his engineering degree.

Alstom in Chile

Alstom has been present in Chile for more than 75 years, contributing to the development of the country’s infrastructure, social progress, and environmental sustainability.
