Chris Moneymaker Continues Hot Streak Heading into WSOP

Chris Moneymaker added another major online poker title to his résumé after winning the Phil’s Thrill PKO and finishing Day 1A of the OSS #2 $1.5 Million GTD Main Event as chip leader at Americas Cardroom.

The Americas Cardroom Pro first captured the $10,300 buy-in Phil’s Thrill PKO last Sunday, overcoming a field of 58 entries and earning $191,229 in total prize money and bounties.

“I still love competing at the highest level, and events like these bring out the best in everybody,” Moneymaker said. “Poker keeps evolving, and that’s what makes winning against these fields so rewarding.”

Moneymaker then shifted focus to the OSS Main Event, part of the $20 Million Online Super Series running May 11–25.

After navigating 827 entries, he ended Day 1A with the overall chip lead and a stack worth 185.61 big blinds heading into Day 2 this Monday.

The $1,050 buy-in tournament carries a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million, with at least $300,000 reserved for first place.

More than 20 years after his historic 2003 WSOP Main Event victory, Moneymaker continues finding success in today’s highly competitive online poker environment.

With the WSOP approaching and poker returning to ESPN broadcasts, his latest results are another reminder that one of poker’s most influential figures remains a serious contender.
