The all-new Kia Seltos is a comprehensively re-engineered subcompact SUV, built on an entirely new platform and powered by a revised range of petrol engines, with a new hybrid variant to follow. Designed to deliver more intelligent everyday versatility, stronger performance, and greater efficiency than its predecessor, it strengthens Kia’s position in one of the brand’s most strategically important global segments.

Every facet of the interior and exterior design and every technological element of the all-new Seltos is purpose-led and life-centric. Nothing has been created to serve a purely aesthetic purpose, and nothing has been engineered to provide a technical spectacle alone. Instead, every element of the Seltos has been carefully considered to enhance adaptability, elevate ease of use, and reduce cognitive load. The all-new Seltos is built on Kia’s latest K3 platform, delivering measurably improved body rigidity through greater use of ultra-high-strength and hot-stamped steel – up to 60 per cent for Korea-built variants. Enhanced chassis tuning, optimized suspension geometry and a reinforced structure combine to provide a more composed and engaging drive.

In the Korean and North American market, the Kia Seltos is offered with three petrol engines: 2.0L, 1.6T-GDI and 1.6L Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). In the European market, the Kia Seltos is offered with two petrol engines: 1.6T-GDI and 1.6L HEV. In general markets, Kia Seltos engine options vary by production plant, ranging from 1.6L HEV to 1.5T-GDI/VGT.

The new hybrid variant joins the lineup in 2026, meeting the growing global demand for lower-emission mobility without compromising the SUV character that defines the Seltos. The hybrid powertrain introduces Kia’s Smart Regenerative Braking System 3.0, which automatically adjusts regenerative braking intensity based on traffic flow, road gradient, navigation data and detected hazards such as intersections, speed bumps and roundabouts. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality adds further versatility, enabling the Seltos to power external devices from the cabin.

What technology does the Seltos offer to enhance driving in challenging conditions?

A conventional, mechanical all-wheel drive system is available on 1.6-litre turbocharged models, paired with a multi-link rear suspension for greater confidence and composure whatever the conditions. Terrain Mode – with dedicated Snow, Mud and Sand settings – helps take the stress out of driving in challenging everyday conditions, from icy commutes to loose surfaces, while Drive Mode Select (Eco, Normal, Sport) allows drivers to fine-tune powertrain and steering response across every environment. Availability of Drive Mode Select and Terrain Mode settings may vary by market region and specific powertrain .

For the first time in a Kia ICE or hybrid vehicle, e-AWD technology is applied to the Kia Seltos Hybrid (available in export markets only), helping improve traction and control in low-grip driving conditions. Both the Kia Seltos 2WD and AWD hybrid models feature a multi-link rear suspension, which contributes to enhanced ride refinement, stability, and overall driving performance

Steering and suspension calibration has been tailored by market: European specifications prioritize agile handling and high-speed stability; Korean specifications focus on ride comfort and pitch control for urban conditions.

Aerodynamic refinements, including a rear spoiler, spoiler-side garnish, aero wheels and an optimized underbody cover, help the all-new Seltos achieve a drag coefficient of 0.31, down from 0.33 on the outgoing model.

The all-new Seltos is the most visually assertive interpretation of the model to date. Developed under Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy, it embodies the spirit of the ’Relentless Innovator’, harmonizing rugged SUV strength with refined modernity and contrasting soft, voluminous body surfaces with geometric lamp graphics and precise character lines.

Dimensions have grown in every meaningful direction: at 4,430 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall on a 2,690 mm wheelbase, the new Seltos is 45 mm longer and 30 mm wider than its predecessor. The enlarged footprint enables a genuinely more spacious cabin while allowing the fitment of up to 19-inch tires.

At the front, a widened grille frames Kia’s vertical Star Map signature daytime running lights, while a Dynamic Welcome Light sequence adds a distinctive presence on approach. Flush door handles lend aerodynamic sophistication to the sides, where strong diagonal character lines, sculpted wheel-arch moldings and a floating roofline create a silhouette that conveys forward motion even at rest. Contrasting cladding and satin silver accents emphasize both durability and refinement.

At the rear, vertical tail lamps extend across the tailgate to reinforce width and visual stability, with a clean parting line flowing seamlessly from lamp to lamp for a grounded, purposeful finish.

The cabin has been redesigned to put everyday usability first. A 60 mm longer wheelbase delivers an additional 25 mm of legroom and 12-14 mm of headroom, while luggage capacity grows by 38 liters to a class-leading 536 liters (VDA).

The transition to a column-type Shift-by-Wire (SBW) system frees up the center console entirely, creating a cleaner, more functional environment that serves both driver and passengers. A low, horizontal dashboard maximizes forward visibility and contributes to a sense of openness throughout the cabin, complemented by a wide panoramic sunroof.

Seat comfort has been thoroughly re-engineered. The front seats offer a relaxation mode optimized for greater comfort and pressure distribution, while for the X-line and GT-line, optional mesh headrests enhance ventilation during longer journeys. Rear seats recline 12 degrees forward and backward and fold 6:4 flat for flexible cargo configurations. A foldable dual-level cargo board and Kia’s AddGear modular storage system make it straightforward to organize and adapt the boot to whatever the day’s activities and plans demand.

Premium Harman Kardon and Bose audio systems are available, delivering high-fidelity sound calibrated to the cabin’s acoustic architecture. Customizable 64-colour ambient mood lighting allows the interior to be personalized to any occasion.

In line with Kia’s sustainability commitments, the cabin incorporates multiple eco-friendly materials including Bio PU, PCM plastic, recycled PET fabric and etc.

A panoramic display combining dual 12.3-inch screens – instrument cluster and infotainment – with a dedicated climate control panel sits at the heart of the Seltos’ digital environment, paired with Kia’s latest connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) platform. A 12-inch windshield Head-Up Display (HUD) projects key driving data directly into the driver’s line of sight.

Kia’s AI Assistant, powered by generative AI, enables natural conversational voice interaction for vehicle controls, navigation, entertainment and general queries, reducing reliance on physical inputs while driving. It can guide users through vehicle setup, support travel planning, recommend music and handle everyday queries. Digital Key 2 with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology allows seamless smartphone-based vehicle access – including smart approach unlock and walkaway lock – without requiring the phone to be held against a sensor.

Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates cover both the infotainment system and vehicle controllers, keeping the Seltos’ capabilities current throughout its life. The Kia Connect Store provides access to downloadable features and personalisation options including Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars™, display themes, plus 17 special FIFA World Cup 2026™ themes.

The all-new Seltos has been engineered to meet the most demanding global safety standards, targeting five stars under North American NCAP (2WD), Top Safety Pick from IIHS, Grade 1 from KNCAP and five stars from India’s BNCAP. A reinforced dash cross-member expanded use of ultra-high-strength steel and targeted side-impact strengthening protect occupant space under the latest test protocols.

The ADAS suite includes a number of new and enhanced features. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2) now operates across an expanded speed range of 10–85 km/h, while newly added features include Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA) and Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) with Hands-on/off Detection (HoD). Lane Keeping Assist 2, Safe Exit Warning and a Surround View Monitor complete the suite. A 12-inch Head-Up Display further supports safe, distraction-free driving.

Vehicle cybersecurity is managed from the earliest stages of development in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE R155 regulations, with multi-layered defences across ECUs, communication networks and cloud systems, reinforced by OTA security patches.

Global production of the all-new Seltos began in December 2025 at Kia’s India plant, with sequential production at facilities in Korea and China also underway. The model will be available across Korea, North America, Europe and China throughout 2026, reaching up to 189 countries globally.

The hybrid variant is available in Korea from January 2026, followed by Europe, North America and other markets across the course of the year.
