Appointment at Finavia: Krista Elfving to become Airport Manager of Kemi-Tornio and Kajaani airports

Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business, Krista Elfving will begin as the Airport Manager of Kajaani Airport on 1 June 2026. After the summer, Elfving will also take over the management of Kemi-Tornio Airport. Elfving will be in charge of managing the airports and cooperation with local stakeholders.

Krista has strong expertise in customer experience and process management and their development. We have been developing customer experience and airport processes at Finavia’s airports for many years, and this work will continue at Kemi-Tornio and Kajaani airports under the leadership of Krista,” says Jonna Pietilä, Finavia’s Regional Director of Northern Finland and Lapland Airports.

Before moving to Finavia, Elfving has worked in the energy and service sectors.

The state’s purchased traffic has been operated to Kemi-Tornio and Kajaani airports since 2021. A total of 43,000 passengers travelled through Kajaani Airport in 2025, and just over 34,000 passengers travelled through Kemi-Tornio Airport. Due to the state’s purchased traffic, there is currently a regular route from Kajaani and Kemi-Tornio to Helsinki Airport. In addition, individual chartered flights from Europe have been operated to both airports during the winter season.
