Telefónica is a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services Worldwide for the twelfth consecutive year
Telefónica has been recognised as a Leader for the twelfth consecutive year in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed IoT Connectivity Services Worldwide report.
Telefónica, which provides managed IoT services through its digital business unit Telefónica Tech, continued in 2025 to offer its extensive portfolio of technologies, including 5G and NB-IoT technologies (which feature low data consumption and high signal penetration and coverage) and to expand the reach of its services through satellite connectivity, thereby driving the digital transformation of its customers, even in remote or hard-to-reach locations.
Telefónica’s managed IoT services enable organisations to monitor and manage their assets securely and centrally via Kite. Kite is a platform developed by Telefónica that offers customers complete visibility and control over all their SIMs in real time and remotely, from anywhere in the world.
Furthermore, Kite features advanced artificial intelligence capabilities (such as a natural language assistant, behavioural segmentation models, and the automated resolution of a high percentage of operational tickets) and acts as a connectivity orchestrator by providing eSIM functionalities under the new SGP.32 standard, enabling the agile switching between different connectivity providers and the deployment of IoT solutions across multiple regions.
The company provides these managed IoT connectivity services to key sectors (energy, utilities, automotive and mobility, retail, industry, agriculture and healthcare) and organisations involved in smart city initiatives. Of particular note are the advanced capabilities in Industry, where Telefónica provides comprehensive managed IoT services, private 5G networks and edge computing for critical use cases.
Darío Cesena, Head of IoT at Telefónica Tech, says: “Our commitment to IoT connectivity and the development and ongoing evolution of our Kite platform are widely recognised in the market and are key to enabling organisations to connect and manage millions of devices on a global scale, drive new business models and make data-driven decisions more efficiently, securely and sustainably. This is enabling us to support an increasing number of companies in their digital transformation with more and better services, and to advance our company’s commitment to becoming the best gateway for citizens, businesses and public administrations to digital technologies.”
