TCM Celebrates Marilyn Monroe at 100, Sets Steven Spielberg Night & ‘Summer of Darkness’ Noir Series for June
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) today announced its June 2026 programming lineup, featuring a month-long celebration of Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday, a special appearance by Steven Spielberg, and the launch of Summer of Darkness, a definitive film noir showcase curated by Eddie Muller.
Throughout June, TCM honors Marilyn Monroe’s centennial with Star of the Month programming airing the first three Monday nights, spotlighting iconic performances across her career, including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Some Like It Hot, and The Misfits.
On June 9, Steven Spielberg joins TCM for a special evening co-hosting Close Encounters of the Third Kind, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, and Minority Report. Together, the films highlight his signature blend of wonder, imagination, and thought-provoking storytelling. The appearance coincides with the release of his latest project, Decision Day.
Beginning June 5 and continuing into July, TCM premieres Summer of Darkness: Eddie Muller’s Top 25, a weekly Friday night event showcasing Muller’s personal selections of the greatest film noir titles ever made. The series features classics such as The Maltese Falcon, Double Indemnity, Out of the Past, and Touch of Evil, alongside late-night neo-noir pairings that trace the genre’s enduring influence.
