KeepStreams Just Dropped New Updates — and They’re Worth Talking About
Two new updates. One for Windows, one for Mac. Both fixing things that actually matter — especially if you’re on Apple TV.
Windows v2018 — The Fixes That Actually Matter
Let’s start with the one that’ll sting if you’ve run into it: purchased Apple TV videos refusing to download in AC3 5.1 or Stereo AAC 2.0 audio. That’s not a minor glitch — that’s your money not doing what it’s supposed to. Fixed now.
Beyond that, the Windows update also patches:
- Disney+ — certain videos were failing mid-analysis or mid-download. No more.
- Joyn and RTL+ — downloaded files were showing the wrong resolution in the filename. Annoying? Absolutely. Also fixed.
- Crunchyroll — analysis and download failures, now resolved.
- NHK-Ondemand — video analysis was failing outright. That’s been addressed, too.
Nothing flashy. Just things that should have worked are now actually working.
Mac v2017 — One New Feature, Several Key Fixes
The headline here is a new capability: KeepStreams for Mac now supports downloading purchased videos from Apple TV. That’s not something every tool handles, and it’s a meaningful addition. (Quick note: to grab purchased content, you’ll need to use the search function on the Apple TV website — it won’t surface automatically.)
On the fix side, the Mac update covers quite a bit of ground:
- A crash that was hitting some users when adding videos to the task queue — gone.
- Fandango at Home and HBO Max — both were failing on analysis and download. Both are fixed.
- Discovery+ — same story, now resolved.
- RTL+ — two separate issues: a general download failure and a specific block on 1080p quality. Both patched.
That RTL+ situation in particular — being limited to sub-1080p when 1080p should be available — is the kind of thing that quietly ruins your offline viewing experience. Glad it’s sorted.
So, Is It Worth Trying?
If you’re someone who downloads content for travel, limited-connectivity situations, or just prefers owning a local copy of what you’ve paid for, KeepStreams is built around exactly that use case. The fact that it supports this many platforms — and keeps patching them as they change — is honestly its strongest selling point.
Head over to keepstreams.com to check out the full platform.
Both updates are available now.
