Building Safety Month 2026 Highlights Resources to Strengthen Indoor Environmental Quality in Puerto Rico

This month marks the annual celebration of Building Safety Month in Puerto Rico and throughout the United States. Now in its 46th year, the 2026 campaign theme, “Built to Last,” underscores the importance of resilient construction, proactive maintenance, and healthy indoor environments in protecting occupants and communities.

Supported by the nonprofit International Code Council and a broad coalition of partners, Building Safety Month raises awareness about the critical role of building safety professionals, property owners, and communities in maintaining safe and sustainable structures. The campaign features weekly themes designed to engage the public and industry stakeholders:

• Week One: Safe Homes, Strong Communities
• Week Two: Voices of the Built Environment
• Week Three: Prepared to Protect
• Week Four: Communities Without Limits
