- Luca Martello takes over responsibility for Lancia Corse HF from the upcoming Rally Due Valli
- Continuity, the development of young talents and the growth of the sporting programme are at the heart of this new phase for Lancia Corse HF
Lancia announces the appointment of Luca Martello as Head of Lancia Corse HF. The handover, announced at Rally Il Ciocco, will become effective from the upcoming Rally Due Valli, when Martello will officially succeed Eugenio Franzetti at the head of the brand’s motorsport activities.
The appointment comes at a particularly significant moment for Lancia, as the brand continues along a return-to-competition path built on consistency, credibility and a long-term vision. After having led the relaunch of Lancia Corse HF and overseen both roles for several months, Eugenio Franzetti, now Global Director Marketing & Communication of Alfa Romeo, is handing over to Luca Martello, who takes on this new position alongside his current responsibilities as EE Lancia Ypsilon Product Manager.
Born in Aosta on January 28, 1991, Luca Martello joined the Group in 2016 and has been part of the Lancia world since 2020. Over the years, he has closely followed the development journey of the New Lancia Ypsilon, supporting its evolution all the way to its arrival in motorsport. This experience has given him an in-depth understanding of the product, the brand’s identity and its ambitions, as Lancia now enters a new sporting season.
At Rally Due Valli, Martello will also inaugurate the Trofeo Lancia Rally6, a new initiative that further expands the brand’s presence in motorsport and strengthens Lancia’s role as a platform for developing the talents of tomorrow.
“Taking on the responsibility for Lancia Corse HF is a great source of pride for me and a challenge that I embrace with enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility,” said Luca Martello, Head of Lancia Corse HF. “Lancia is a unique brand in the world of rallying, capable of combining history, passion, character and a clear vision for the future. Taking over from Eugenio Franzetti means ensuring continuity for an extraordinary body of work, built with expertise, energy and great dedication. Our goal is to continue along this path with humility, determination and team spirit, further growing the brand’s motorsport programme and helping develop young talents.”
In his new role, Martello will closely follow the main events of Lancia’s sporting programme in Italy and across Europe, confirming the brand’s determination to oversee every stage of its rally project, from the development of young drivers to its most ambitious programmes. In this context, the debut of the Trofeo Lancia Rally6 represents a further step forward in a strategy designed to strengthen the brand’s presence on the Italian and international rally scene.
With this appointment, Lancia confirms its determination to further consolidate the Lancia Corse HF project, leveraging internal expertise, managerial continuity and the development of a sporting pathway capable of supporting the brand’s growth. It is a journey that looks firmly ahead, built on an unrivalled sporting heritage and on a new generation ready to carry that legacy forward.
