The deadline for submitting projects is June 15

WEBWIRE

The San Sebastian Festival Co-Production Forum, now in its fifteenth edition, opens its call for entries for audiovisual projects from Europe and Latin America with a minimum runtime of 60 minutes and at least 20% of their financing secured. European projects must have a link to Latin America.

The Forum, which will take place from September 21 to September 23, will consist of pre-recorded pitchings of the selected projects, and one-to-one meetings between the projects producers and directors and potential partners.

The Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum coincides with the two Festival’s works in progress sections for European productions (WIP Europa) and Latin American productions (WIP Latam) and is a meeting point to foster business contacts between the audiovisual industry professionals.

The selected projects compete for four awards: Best Project Award, DALE! Award (Development Latin America-Europe), ArteKino International Award and Casa Wabi-Escine Award. Furthermore, the main producers of the European projects selected at the Forum will be able to participate in Ventana Sur’s Proyecta and the Latinamerican projects’ producers, if requirements are met, will have the opportunity to participate in the Producers Network of Marché du Film-Festival de Cannes.

The Festival will select a maximum of 20 projects based on the reports of three experts: producer Fernanda de la Peza and programmers and members of the San Sebastian Festival Selection committee Esperanza Luffiego and Javier Martín, who is also the delegate for Latin America.

Since its creation in 2012, the Forum has selected 230 projects, 114 of which have already been completed and released theatrically and at international festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Sundance, Locarno and San Sebastian: Seis meses en el edificio rosa con azul / Six Months in the Pink and Blue Building, by Bruno Santamaría will participate this year at the Cannes’ Critics Week ; Un cabo suelto / A Loose End by Daniel Hendler was selected at Venezia Spotlight 2025; and El Mensaje / The Message by Iván Fund won the Silver Bear Jury Prize at Berlinale 2025 and later competed in the Horizontes Latinos section. Karmele by Asier Altuna had its World Premiere at Official Selection - Special Screenings, and Kota / Hen by György Pálmy was selected for Zabaltegi-Tabakalera after receiving a Special Mention from the Toronto Platform Jury.
