Stellantis closed the first quarter of 2026 with a 5% increase in sales across the EU30 vehicle market
- In the first quarter of 2026, Stellantis registered 696,676 vehicle s [b][sup][1][/sup][/b], up 5% year-on-year versus 2025.
- Market share increased by 0.21 percentage points to 17.5%, the highest share by quarter since first quarter 2024. Stellantis+Leapmotor International increase in market share becomes 0,73pp and the market share goes up to 18,1%.
- The company led by Antonio Filosa is the only OEM among the first 10 to have increased its market share in the first quarter.
- FIAT (+25.4%), Lancia (+15.7%), Citroën (+12.3%) and Opel/Vauxhall (+10.5%) delivered the strongest sales performances.
- In sales, among major markets, Stellantis achieved solid performances in Germany (+15.2%) that posted double‑digit growth, while Italy (+6.7%) and Spain also (6.1%) achieved solid performances. Results were particularly strong in Austria (+31.1%) and Poland (+18%).
- Stellantis Pro One ranks No. 1 in Europe in the Light Commercial Vehicles market, with a 28.7% market share.
- Stellantis also holds the leading position in the hybrid* car segment with 21.6% market share.
The first quarter of 2026 closed with moderate growth for the European car market (+3.7% versus 2025), with Stellantis increasing both registrations and market share.
As highlighted by Emanuele Cappellano, Chief Operating Officer, Enlarged Europe: “The first three months of 2026 have consolidated the recovery process already initiated by Stellantis towards the end of last year. In Italy, Stellantis posted a growth of 6.7% in sales. The top five best‑selling models in the market are all from Stellantis: the Fiat Pandina ranks first, followed by the Jeep® Avenger in second place, Fiat Grande Panda third, Citroën C3 fourth and the Leapmotor T03 in fifth. Leapmotor is the leading brand in the BEV segment.
In France, Stellantis confirmed its market leadership for the quarter, with a market share approaching 31% and five models among the Top 10 best sellers.
In Germany, quarterly sales rose by 15.2% year over year, with market share increasing by 1.2 percentage points to 12.7%.
Since the beginning of the year, Stellantis models have received a wave of international recognition:
- In the UK, the Fiat Grande Panda was named “Best Bargain” at the Top Gear Electric Vehicle Awards 2026, in recognition of its distinctive design and everyday practicality.
- In France, Citroën ELO, the brand’s latest concept car, was crowned Concept Car of the Year 2026 at the Trophées de L’Argus.
- In Germany, the Abarth 500e secured its tenth “Best Mini Cars” award from Auto motor und sport, marking its second consecutive win, while the new Opel Mokka GSE was named “Best Small Car”, receiving the Golden Steering Wheel 2025.
- At European level, the Grande Panda won the AUTOBEST CONQUEST Award 2026 in the Design category.
- The New Citroën C3 Aircross SUV was awarded the prestigious “Best Users’ Car of Europe 2026” title by the AUTOBEST jury, recognising its practicality and user‑friendly approach.
The next key milestone will be the Investor Day and the presentation of Stellantis’ strategic plan, scheduled for 21 May in Detroit.
