(Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the availability of Symantec Intruder Alert for the HP-UX 11i v2 operating system for HP Integrity servers based on the Intel® Itanium® 2 processor. Symantec’s host-based intrusion detection solution is a market leading intrusion prevention software that is specifically designed for the 64-bit architecture of the Intel Itanium 2 processor, which provides substantial performance improvements to customers that run memory-intensive applications.

This new global solution enhances the ability of customers using HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i v2 to detect unauthorized access and take real-time action to prevent potentially damaging intrusions.
