Temple Grandin School Holds 15th Anniversary Event with Keynote Address by Temple Grandin
The Temple Grandin School (TGS) will mark the 15-year anniversary of its founding with a celebration event on April 14, 2026, featuring keynote remarks from Temple Grandin, a renowned leader in the neurodiverse community, after whom TGS is named.
“We are proud to celebrate this milestone with our students, alumni, current and former staff, families of TGS, and the community,” said Jen Wilger, Executive Director of Temple Grandin School. “It is an honor to have Temple Grandin here to speak to our audience about the value of diverse minds and different styles of learning.”
From the beginning, TGS has been dedicated to serving the unique needs of neurodivergent learners in grades 6-12, including students on the autism spectrum and students with ADHD. “We will always be a small school, but for the students and families we serve, our community has been life changing. Our students have grown through their strengths, and it is wonderful to see them go on to find their own paths to success after high school. It is our goal to support neurodivergent students searching for a community of belonging,” added Wilger.
Accredited by the National Commission on Exceptional Schools, TGS has had a significant impact for its students and families. It has served 127 students, with 38 graduates, and five more expected to graduate this spring. Most graduates (84%) transitioned to two- or four-year colleges, or vocational education programs, and all have gone on to a wide range of employment fields from agriculture to engineering.
TGS is tightly integrated into the local community. It has created partnerships with many Colorado organizations including Ignite Adaptive Sports, EXPAND (City of Boulder Parks/Rec), University of Colorado’s Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, Boulder Valley School District, Saint Vrain Valley School District, My Nature Lab, Growing Gardens, Community Food Share, Boulder/Longmont Humane Societies, Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, Guiding Bright Minds, and T.A.C.T. Additionally, through student fundraising, TGS gives back to local non-profit organizations and causes around the world.
The anniversary celebration will include a buffet dinner. All proceeds will go to Temple Grandin School’s annual fund. Supporters and community members are encouraged to attend.
