Spring Has Sprung in Acron: Attack of the Squirrels! — And Things Are About to Get Nuts

Today, the games studio behind hits including Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, Game Room, Spatial Ops, Racket Club, Retrocade and more, rolled out the first major update in more than five years for its hit asymmetric party game, Acron: Attack of the Squirrels!. So grab your VR headset and a few friends on mobile devices, and get ready for hilarious mayhem that turns both competitive and cooperative.

A Blooming New Battleground
In today’s update, “Cherry Glade” is added as the latest level to Acron: Attack of the Squirrels!, a chaotic asymmetric party game where one VR player defends a stash of golden acorns as a towering tree while friends on their phones team up as mischievous squirrels to steal them.

The game’s latest level isn’t just a walk in the park; it’s a whole new way to crack the same nut — and players will need to think fast, act faster, and maybe even go a little squirrelly to win. While previous levels had squirrels sprinting back and forth toward the tree, Cherry Glade delivers a fresh challenge wrapped in a colorful springtime setting that affords a new gameplay direction for the squirrels that just might make more work for the tree if it wants to protect its golden acorns! Now Zip, Chunk, Doug and Sim can dart, dodge, and zig-zag their way to victory from multiple angles with a fun new “sideways arc” movement that means the tree must branch out its strategy and keep its eyes peeled in every direction. The result? Matches feel more dynamic, unpredictable, and delightfully chaotic.

Polished Like a Perfect Acorn
Resolution Games has also heard the chatter in the treetops, and this update brings major network stability improvements to help matches run as smooth as a squirrel on a sugar rush. Players can expect reduced network desyncs; better synchronization for mushrooms, Sunset Field buttons, bots, and water interactions; as well as other improvements addressing high ping issues for some players. This update also includes a variety of smaller bug fixes and UI improvements, tidying up the experience so players can focus on what really matters: teamwork, trickery, and total acorn domination.

Available Now — Let’s Get Crackin’
The “Cherry Glade” update for Acron: Attack of the Squirrels! is available as a free update to owners of the game. The full game can be downloaded on Meta Quest (2, 3, 3S, Pro), SteamVR (HTC Vive, Valve Index, Rift), and PICO headsets. It requires at least one VR player and 1-8 mobile players (iOS and Android) using a free companion app.
