Goodyear announces a new phase of EMEA transformation to enhance financial and operational efficiency
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced a new phase of its strategic transformation of the EMEA business. This proposed evolution is designed to simplify operations, reduce internal complexity, and create a more customer-centric organization that delivers enhanced value across the region, building on the successful progress made in earlier phases of the company’s transformation journey.
The proposed changes, which are subject to required consultations with social partners, would impact approximately 600 sales and support function roles across EMEA. The company also expects to create around 200 new roles to support the new business model.
Jan-Piet van Kesteren, Managing Director EMEA and Chief Sales Officer EMEA Consumer: "This next phase of our transformation represents a critical step forward in our journey to unlock growth and meet – and exceed – the needs of our customers. Building on the progress we’ve already made, our business review revealed that further reducing internal complexity is essential to drive further success and position Goodyear for long-term success.
The proposed changes include:
- Streamlined operations that reduce internal friction and improve agility. Plans include further process improvements.
- Evolving our route to market, such as how we serve our customers.
- Refining our sales and support functions to align with our global operating model.
With these changes, the Company expects to increase business sustainability and enable future growth.
Importantly, the manufacturing footprint is not expected to be impacted, and there will be no immediate changes to how Goodyear serves its customers.
“Customers in EMEA can expect a Goodyear that is more agile, more responsive, and more focused on their success,” added Jan-Piet van Kesteren. “By simplifying how we work internally, we’re able to redirect our energy toward what matters most to our customers – delivering quality products, reliable service, and genuine partnership. As we embark on this journey, we would like to thank our employees for their continued dedication and professionalism. Goodyear is fully committed to transparent communication and will continue to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the process.”
