IKEA U.S. announced a $40,000 donation to Family Promise through the “Vote for Impact” Giving Campaign, in celebration of 40 years of IKEA in the U.S. Family Promise, headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, will receive this funding to support expansion of their community services and creation of more innovative housing solutions that incorporate trauma-informed design for families in need.
Since 1988, the non-profit has supported more than one million family members on their path to stable housing. Family Promise operates a nationwide network of community-based sites dedicated to helping families with children overcome homelessness and achieve lasting stability. By partnering with local organizations, volunteers, and businesses, Family Promise delivers practical, community-driven solutions that meet families where they are.
“We are incredibly grateful to IKEA U.S. and to the nearly 30,000 customers and co-workers who voted to support Family Promise through the “Vote for Impact” Giving Campaign,” said Family Promise CEO Cheryl Schuch. “This generous investment will help us expand critical services for families facing homelessness and strengthen our ability to create safe, stable, and thoughtfully designed housing solutions. Together, we are building brighter futures for families and children across the country.”
About the Vote for Impact Giving Campaign
The Vote for Impact Giving Campaign ran from January 7th – January 31st and was uniquely designed to give IKEA U.S. customers and co-workers a voice in deciding which participating partner organizations should receive additional funding from IKEA through a dedicated voting platform, to mark the milestone anniversary of the brand.
IKEA U.S. partners with national organizations year-round through customer-matching campaigns, in-kind product donations, emergency response efforts, co-worker engagement, and long-term collaborations.
“The 40th anniversary of IKEA U.S. celebrates four decades of supporting local communities, reinforcing an ongoing commitment to making life at home more affordable, sustainable and accessible,” said Vanessa Flores, IKEA U.S. Sustainability Business Partner. “The longstanding relationship we have with our social impact partners has enabled us to create sustained impact and to meet communities where the needs are greatest, helping live up to our mission at IKEA of creating a better everyday life for the many.”
In addition to national non-profit partners, IKEA U.S. works with 250+ local community organizations each year to address urgent needs across the country that are relevant and meaningful to their local area.
